Believe it or not ive only recently started playing counter strike and half life games and i fricking love them, I was always a console gamer and i seems i missed some gems like this when i was a kid without a pc, Can anybody recommend any games still worth playing today from the 2000's for somebody who never had a pc in them days lol?

Mixture of games from different periods :

Off the top of my head...

Quake 1 & 2 + mods
Soldier of Fortune 1 & 2
F.E.A.R. + expansions
Far Cry (2004)
Doom 3 + expansion
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. + mods
Deus Ex (2000)
System Shock 2 + mods
Unreal (1998) + expansion / Unreal 2

X-Wing, Tie Fighter and X-Wing Vs TIE Fighter. Proper old school although not having to mess around with memmaker to create enough free XMS memory won't give the same effect.

I'll second both System Shock 2 and Deus Ex. Took me a long time to get into SS2, multiple installs/uninstalls, but once I got into it was one of the best games I have ever played.

I'll offer Return to Castle Wolfenstein as another classic.

Command and Conquer 1 + Expansion.
Red Alert 1 + Expansion.
Tomb Raider (the 2006 remake is good too - It is nostalgic but I will always love the original).
The originals. The best, even though they are 1990s games.

As for 2000s games, I loved Commando 2 and GTA Vice city. Oblivion is excellent too.

I'll add Thief 1: Gold Edition, Thief 2: The Metal age and Thief 3: Deadly shadows to that list. I've only played thief 1 and 3, and preferred the third one myself. From what I've heard thief 4 (just called thief) wasn't that great. It was released very recently so it doesn't count as a 00's game either

GTA Vice City, Knights of the Old Republic, Thief 2, X-Wing vs Tie Fight with Blanace of power expansion. Old school point and click games are worth looking at as well, Monkey Island, Indiana Jones*and*the Fate of Atlantis, Simon the Sorcerer, Discworld.

I'd suggest trying Good Old Games for starters, good price but no DLC/software needed.. once you've got the game its yours
Sorry i can't be more specific but I have a hell of a lot of stuff from there.. got to the point I aquired another hard drive just for those titles :P
