What's the best card for £300

Hi guys

Going to upgrading my GPU and have a £300 budget. What would get me the best performance for that price?

Thanks

R9 290 MSI for 299 http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-239-MS&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=1752

to me thats the best value perf/dollar period, get 3 games, mantle, true audio, compatible freesync in few months...as i said if i had 59 i would go for the vaporx terrific card, good overclocker

That's the best answer so far. Cracking card for the price. Nothing else will get near that for the money. :)

+1 for the AIB MSI 290 at £299 + free games.

On a side note it's quite depressing to see AIB 290 cards going cheaper than i got my reference cards for.

Early adopters often pay a price premium LT with most hardware , cheaper hardware is good for us all imo :), but i can understand how it feels

Indeed, just look at the price of a reference R9 290 on the MM!! £210 for a unit which has been used for mining - crazy pricing!! A 780 went for £310 yesterday, wish I'd had the money!

If your budget is set in stone, then I would agree with the above. The 290 at £299 is a cracking card for the money. If you are willing to be flexible on your budget then the 290x and 780 could be options.

Personally I would grab one of the MSI 290's.

Yep I got my two for £220 each :) And I've seen a couple go for under £200.

I may pick up a cheap 290 reference card eventually to go tri fire. Will probably wait till it's a bit cooler though lol.

How do you find them? Considering getting a reference 290 once my overtime money comes through.

Have you replaced the thermal compound at all?

Performance is great, obviously. Way overkill for my resolution.
They aren't quiet, but are quieter than my old 6990 :D
Idle noise is a bit too loud for my liking honestly.
I haven't changed the paste.
