Morning,
Been running with a stable overclock of 4.3ghz now on my 3570k for 14-16months no problems.(no game freeze ups nothing)
i installed windows 8.1 (coincidence ?)and a samsung evo 120gb ssd and after a few days had a couple of "game had to close" instances, on all modern games it turns out.
windows event viewer came up with "whey logger" which i understand to be voltage issues,so i increased cpu voltage a couple of clicks, still the same.
in the end to overcome this problem i dropped the overclock to 4.2ghz and am now running 1.248v as apposed to 1.26/1.272v on the previous overclock.
I am for the time being running fixed volts while testing and the fault seems to have gone.
Is my cpu degrading or might it be motherboard related(Z77 D3H)
Temps have never been a problem (60*c max in games)but the cpu is not a good clocker
What do you guys think?
