Hi,

Just had an offer accepted on my first home (yay), this will be the first time I've actually purchased a broadband package myself so any help will be appreciated!

The flat is in West Sussex, Bognor Regis.

My requirements are, in order of importance:
- Low ping, gaming friendly (I do a lot of online gaming)
- Unlimited or high monthly download limit
- No traffic shaping
- No fair usage policy
- Not slow at peak times
- No throttling
- Fibre/cable (if not too expensive)
- Good customer support

Budget is up to £30 monthly however less is better :)

I do not want a landline phone and don't plan to get one, but you need line rental anyway right?

I have looked at Plusnet Fibre Unlimited, it looks good, but I have no idea what the ISP themselves are like. Any recommendations please?

Sky maybe?

Also you get cashback via Quidco, you will need line rental too. Just an option :)

I've had bad experiences with Sky in the past with their customer service (india) and slow speeds during peak times, but thanks for the cashback shout.

If your budget is £30 a month including line rental then I doubt you can get fibre and have it unlimited too.

Plusnet seems to be £15 for unlimited fibre and £15 line rental :)

Just done the Sky cashback deal via topcashback, £105 cashback + £75 M&S voucher. Line rental and BB ~£20 total per month exc. cashback and voucher. Total year 1 cost with intro offers, before calls £60.
If it's a brand new flat I'm guessing you'll need to pay for a new line install, not sure if the Sky order process online handles that as it asks for the line number you want to order service for.

I swapped my FTTC connection from IDNet to Plusnet over 12 months ago and have no regrets. There wasn't a technical problem with IDNet, they just became expensive for what I needed at the time.

The few problems I've had were mainly caused by OR rather than Plusnet. When there have been problems they've always been communicative, and things have been fixed in a reasonable time.

If you pay for the line rental annually rather than monthly you should just about meet your budget.
