Only tried it out quickly on a few games and seems to be good so far.....

Probably not bother with mantle since sweetfx doesn't work with it yet :(
 
Just been kicked off a 'No Rules' server for swearing at a brain dead Support player who did everything but support.
 
LOL - Just rejoined, continued to kick ass on my own then was kicked for saying 'noob'

It really baffles me why some server admins feel the need to impose a ban on swearing when the game is rated 18 (I think?). I swear the server is managed by the type of beige-wearing boring *******s who run the local neighbourhood watch.

Yeah it is a lovely card, so far I am not disappointed. Thanks :)

I had a look at the sapphire brand etc. as well but preferred MSI and when I seen that this one was on sale yesterday, I thought **** it, might as well! TBH, hardly any difference between all the brands except slightly different coolers, warranty etc.

I was originally looking at 770 and the 280x but wndsr, sidey etc. convinced me to put the extra towards a better GPU.

780 was an option as well but 1GB less VRAM and not as many games + £50 more expensive, it just didn't seem worth going for it over the 290 imo. However, after having just looked at the dimensions of the 780 cards, it wouldn't have fitted in my case anyway!

This should do me for the next 2-3 years hopefully!
 
Yes...I was also looking at a 770...the EVGA 770 4 Gig..but for the money the sapphire at £320 was a better buy i guess

and with any luck the drop outs in fps I'm getting in BF4 are down to the game or server and not my card lol
 
Need to get back into BF had the odd few games now and then i lost intrest in it and played through AC: Black flag now im done with that think its back to BF

Yup, to get a nvidia card with a lot more VRAM, it costs a fortune :( Virtually no reason to get a 770 4GB over a 290 unless shadow play etc. are that important.


Probably the game! Even though I have everything on low/of except mesh, FPS would drop to 30's (originally had a 7850, which is capable of high settings), have yet to test this card on bf though...

Yeah my Daughter as a windforce 7850 ...shes does BF3 lol
