I am getting a new graphics card soon and i am stuck between these two:

Price does not matter as they are about the same, give or take some

Does anyone know when the new nividia 800 series is going to be coming out?

I can vouch for the EVGA 780s - great cards, run pretty cool and quiet, and they look good in windowed cases too

But you'll be happy with either most likely, just depends on what games you'll be playing and if there any specific features you want.

What games do you mainly play? If they support PhysX (Batman, Borderlands, etc) or GameWorks (COD: Ghosts) then get the Nvidia. If they support Mantle (BF4, Thief) then get the AMD.

You can't really go wrong with either GPU, they're both excellent.

The problem with the Nvidia card is

I would say these even make the 290 look a little expensive. The gtx780 also has a stock cooler on it which to me is good as a stock cooler but not as good as the others.

Any reason as to why that GTX 780 over the Superclocked one as it's cheaper

Just came from an R9 290 to a GTX 780...in terms of overclocking satisfaction I'm getting more of that from my GTX 780...silicon lottery and all that. But as above it depends on what you're playing.

Although BF4 for example still runs sublimely on a GTX 780

I wont be overclocking the cards, I play a lot of battlefields so it would need to be good for hardline and battlefield 5(when it comes out)

I like the titan cooler on the one I chose and since I would like it to have the geforce GTX writing on the top

Then you will be wanting an AMD card as the games use Mantle. At least i think BF5 will be using mantle.

It will be, though it won't be officially announced for some time yet. There's a lot of Mantle games that have yet to be announced.

Most likely next year and if sooner near to Christmas. The real answer is nobody knows but i doubt it's any time soon. For BF you are going to want amd anyway as with your current CPU you won't be getting the best out of any top end Nvidia card. Mantle will make your cpu perform to it's best in any game that uses it.

AMD said new Gpu by the end of the summer, so im guessing Nvidia will be too, maybe august or even september, but my guess these won t be high end gpu more likely low-mid end

The 280x is still a good card and well suited to your cpu in Mantle enabled Bf games.

Its a great card, but I have used it so much I have noticed a performance decrease but i still get okay FPS so I can properly wait a little bit

Looking at your cpu you will definitely want to keep an AMD gpu whatever you do. Mantle will offer a big performance boost for you, regardless of which AMD card you use.
