£100k Garage: Is one car better than many?

55-60k - GT3 997 - Track use & near as dammit closest thing to a racing car

30k - C63 - Everyday car use, does everything I want it to do and the V8...

Left overs Atom / Mini Moke (depending on year of GT3/C63 I had) or failing that a stripped out E46 M3 (again, had one and was a beautiful looking car imo)

Both metal trays on wheels :P always fancied a mini moke for sunny days and something to generally abuse but looking at their value these days, they're becoming more of a collectors item.

100k... as I don't do many miles it would be a road car (or two) and a track car, so:

Caterham (15k)
Ferrari F355 (60k)
BMW E46 M3 CSL (25k)

Big BMW cruiser as a daily driver (thinking F10 530d or 530i)
Porsche Boxster GTS or Lotus Exige V6 as a weekend car

Any left over moneys spent on track days/driver instruction in the weekend car.

I don't know a huge amount about cars... But I'd like:

A newish mini (even though they're ridiculously large) at around 20k

A lotus exige (~50K? not 100% sure on price... I'm sure I seen one bought here for 30 ages ago..)

And a land rover at around 30k :p

Well I have the R8 V10 Coupe on order and an old Subaru Forester 2.5XT in the garage.

Bit over the 100k but could have both and more for less.

R8 because if you don't want a Porsche it really is one of the only sports cars with a manual gearbox and a nice big mid/rear mounted naturally aspirated engine that you can buy new right now.
Plus it looks pretty good

Forester because I love Subaru, had two Impreza WRX STI in the past, it is a little beat up but that's fine as I don't worry about parking it anywhere.

The LP560 was looked at but buying a ~200k car for ~100k still means 200k servicing and maintenance costs, plus some how Lamborghini make the interior much more cramped than the R8 and at 6'3" my knees were up around the steering wheel and the offset pedals were a nightmare with big feet!
Also almost every used one is an E-Gear which is just shockingly bad to drive, not quite as bad as the R-Tronic but its bad.
Unless you physically can't drive a manual, don't even think about either of those gearboxes!

E-Gear and R-Tronic is the same gearbox.

They aren't that bad to drive, just a bit jerky. Bit like an SMG e46.

So Audi come out with an S-Tronic R8 and suddenly the R-Tronic haters hate this also because it is too good.

Audi cannot win.

I think the control software must be different because they don't feel the same to drive.

And yes the S-Tronic is too good :p no emotion.

If the S-Tronic is the same box used in the Huracan then it should be pretty good if you can get the "ANIMA" modes on it as the Huracan in Corsa mode looks brutal.

My car for the day to day cruise, Mercedes S class (w126) £5k
Luckily already have a few of these:D but in this case, would only keep one. This

This would be complimented with something for the weekend. I've narrowed my choices...

1, Rolls Royce Flying Spur, an old one not the modern tat. Its a Rolls with the pace of a Turbo R you see. Could also get a Bristol 411 for when its just me and the significant other! £65k

2, Lagonda Rapide (1961-64) £85k

3, A van to transport the RS125 and RC45 to races, the RC30 to NSR500 to trackdays. £90k

Each choice leaves a little budget for 'those' irresistible bargains you stumble across when not really looking!:)
