Anyone else buy **** they can't afford when they're bored?

I've actually calmed down a hell of a lot now, i used to be a spendthrift, but i'm almost debt free and have become addicted to saving. Just as well as i need to save £20k for next xmas (Wedding in New Zealand and honeymoon in either Fiji or Sydney).

Attempted to window shop in John lewis today until I walked past their watch/stuff box section.

If you like good bass, then surely it would have been better to get one, high quality sub from BK electronics, rather than 2 cheap subs from Onyko?

Something like the XLS200

http://www.bkelec.com/HiFi/Sub_Woofers/XLS200-DF.htm

Would cost a similar amount to both of your subs combined, is a lot more powerful, goes down deeper, 17hz vs 25hz and doesn't have any of the issues of trying to balance 2 subs properly.

I know what you're saying, but the onkyo pack a good punch far from cheapo junk they sound pretty decent, I am very happy with my purchase.

I don't normally splurge so much in one go, but I am in the USA at the moment, the pound is really strong against the dollar at 1:1.6989, one of my siblings is getting married soon and I haven't bought new clothes in a while.

I also bought a nice Joseph Abboud (American brand) suit, but it's being tailored at the moment. Dress shoes are Allen Edmonds (American brand).

The two Samsonite suitcases at the back of the first picture are also new.

Very nice :D

Thanks. :) I am very pleased with my purchases. I spent a good two hours in the shop, trying on lots of different things and getting some much needed advice. The staff in the shop were super nice and I got some cracking deals (most things were either BOGOF or marked down individually, other than the suit). The receipt says that I 'saved' about $1100 in offers and markdowns, which is the equivalent of about 50% of the total amount that I did spend (it would have been $3300 if I didn't have the discounts). I am confident that the bill would have been far higher if I had got the equivalent in the UK.

If you ever visit USA, I highly recommend visiting Mens Warehouse. The quality of the products is very good and once you start shopping, the staff and managers are only too happy to keep throwing deals and discounts at you. You also get $50 credit for every $500 that you spend, which, in California, (due to a state law that prohibits gift certificate expiry) has no expiry (as long as Mens Warehouse is still in business).
