What was your first car?

- What was your first car? 1998 Mazda 323F GXi 1.5 (with electric sunroof )
- How long did you keep your first car? 5 years
- Were you sad to see it go? Definitely not. Damn thing was bearable drivable.
- What did you replace it with? Mazda 6 Ts (no electric sunroof :()
- Did you crash it? A couple of scrapes, one in particular wasn't my fault. The gate post shouldn't have been there

My first was a mk2 Capri.
Cost a fortune to insure! Replaced it after about a year with a motorcycle.
The car had a cherrybomb fitted to the exhaust and man was it loud. It used to set car alarms off when I was driving past :D

What was your first car? Mine was an 1986 Opel Manta 2.0 GTE Coupe with the twin headlight conversion and only 1 door mirror.
- How long did you keep your first car? I kept the car for 3 years
- Were you sad to see it go? One of my biggest regrets trading in my Manta for a Vauxhall Calibra.
- What did you replace it with? Vauxhall Calibra.
- Did you crash it? Never crashed

First car - Rusty old Y reg Austin Metro :p

Duration of ownership - About a year

Sad to see it go - Kind of in a weird way

It's replacement - Pug 205

Fond memories - Patching up a hole in the wing with a bathroom sponge, some filler and a rattle can :D

Ever crashed - Nope, never crashed any car

First car - 1988 Rover 213S in white (transplanted a VDP interior in it)
Duration of ownership - About a year (plus the time it took me to get it on the road)
Sad to see it go - Yes for some reason I could not figure out! Lol
It's replacement - 1988 Austin Mini Jet Black (kept it 10 years but not always on the road)
Fond memories - Cam pulley falling off! Many holidays with friends and despite only having a 1.3 12v engine it kept up with my friend XR3i to about 70!
Ever crashed - Three times! Reversed into a Fiesta didn't cause any damage, clipped a parked Merc being a cocky twit trying to squeeze through a gap that didn't exist, woman in a Seat Ibiza rolled back into me going up a hill and said I drove into the back of her despite the skid marks where my car slid backwards (no damage to my car but she tried to claim and failed).

What was your first car? - Pug 306 GTI6
- How long did you keep your first car? about 18months
- Were you sad to see it go? Yes :-(
- What did you replace it with? Honda Prelude 2.2
- Any fond or amusing memories of it you would like to share? the wheel feel off when i turned into a car park.
- Did you crash it? How badly?

First car I drove was my Girlfriends 1.0 Toyota Yaris in Racey red.. at 15 stone the thing struggled any where, but at low speeds and around tight corners it was kinda fun to throw about.

First car I bought for myself was 2 weeks ago, got myself a nice Peugeot 308 1.6 VTi Sport in OcUK Blue.. It's veddddy niiiice. Big car, goes pretty quick and at no time have I wanted it to be faster. Generally great handling on it and the suspension soaks up most bumps. Only issue I have is it likes to bite left a little on the m6, and once in a while I get a shudder through the Steering when going over a weird bump. Loving the interior and stereo unit, good acoustics and comfortable/spacious.

So glad I got this over a 208 / Clio

D plate Austin Maestro

- How long did you keep your first car?
about 9 months
- Were you sad to see it go?
Not at all the insurance payout was more than I bought it for and it was a rusting heap of "british engineering"
- What did you replace it with?
Peugeot 309 D plate (frying pan - fire comes to mind)
- Did you crash it?
How badly? In the 9 months I owned it it got hit 3 times by other people (not my fault) twice up the back coming off the A66 heading into Middlesbourgh and when it got written off by a dozy blond who was playing with her baby in a childseat and ran a give way and T-boned me shoving me half though a fence into a primary school playground full of little kids. Which lead to a nice chat with the police and her getting carted off in the end but it looked pretty grim for me to start with (young lad must be the idiot driver right?)

What was your first car? 1992 Peugeot 405 1.8 GTDT
- How long did you keep your first car? About a year.
- Were you sad to see it go? Yes, very :(
- What did you replace it with? Ford Focus
- Did you crash it? Never crashed

What was your first car? 1990 K-Reg VW Polo 1.05l
- How long did you keep your first car? About 6 months.
- Were you sad to see it go? Yep :(
- What did you replace it with? 306 1.6

What was your first car? 1998 BMW 318is Coupe, 1.9l 4cyl DOHC 140bhp of pure powaaahhh :p
- How long did you keep your first car? A year and a half, or thereabouts
- Were you sad to see it go? I loved that car, in fact, I still love that car. I did a lot of suspension work and spent entire weekends making it mechanically perfect. It was more fun to drive than my current E46 330ci.
- What did you replace it with? ^^ E46 330ci Clubsport
- Any fond or amusing memories of it you would like to share? Loads. The first time I got the rear end 'properly' out when I didn't want it to. Brown trousers. The previous owner had fitted a Supersprint Race exhaust to it which made it LOUD at idle, and even louder at high revs. Sounded awesome but kept setting car alarms off, and made people come out of their houses and tell me off.
- Did you crash it? How badly? Nope. Though in a brief lapse of concentration, I managed to reverse into my house which put a nice dent in the boot. I'm still the butt of jokes within my circle of friends for that one!

I shouldn't have sold it, but after the driver side window failed for the third time, I'd had enough of messing around with it.

2002/52 Renault Clio Extreme 1.2 16v

- How long did you keep your first car? - I've still got it, four years on, though very rarely drive it now, since i've got my Honda Accord.

- Were you sad to see it go? - I probably would be when it comes to getting rid of it, as its been a fantasic first car, its easy to drive, it looks good, surprisingly practical, fun when you show it some country lanes.

- What did you replace it with? - 2003 2L Honda Accord

- Any fond or amusing memories of it you would like to share? - Took it to Tenby (which is a 2hour drive from Cwmbran) literally less than a week of passing my test.

- Did you crash it? How badly? - Never crashed it, and don't plan to in the future, unless it wasn't my fault, then it doesn't count :D (Hate this stereotype btw)

Neon_dream_int.jpg

all the rage back then, before fast and furious with their flashy neon cars lol :P
iv grown up though now haha

haha i know, i lived my late teens through that period in time. there were some proper monstrosities driving about. at the time, my baby blue 1.2 vauxhall corsa wasn't really worthy of sticking a massive body kit on it, neons, or a beancan exhaust system. so i left it standard :p

until i traded it in for a newer model corsa

lol ye, the 2i looked good to start with but it needed to look different so i modded it.

was like a go kart when id finished it, great fun. only car i miss tbh.

- How long did you keep your first car? 8 years
- Were you sad to see it go? I still own it but I was sad when I wasn't going to drive it anymore
- What did you replace it with? Ford Mondeo
- Any fond or amusing memories of it you would like to share? Just general memories of road trips with mates, a few not family friendly ones as well
- Did you crash it? How badly? Nope I never crashed it but my brother did

1987 BMW 318i with 98K on the clock - a gutless wonder, boring but comfy for my 2.1 metre height. Bought it cleap from a dealer.
Drove it until until the gearbox **** itself 4 years later and traded it in.
Replaced with a 6.3 litre HSV Holden Commodore.
Had great Uni trips with mates to and from the beach, drove in shifts on a tour of the North Island of New Zealand over a four-day driving marathon in the middle of winter - heating stopped working so had to drive in sleeping bag - super safe!
Never crashed it.
