Modder found original files in watchdogs that activates e3 2012 graphics

Very interesting.

If these settings were infact 'disabled' by default and its discovered re-enabling them really does bring back the graphics we saw at e3 then you have to ask why. Why would Ubisoft downgrade their own game and not give any options for PC users to use them.

Will keep an eye on how the mod developments but for now, all I can say is Ubisoft are a bunch of *****.

Because, like all game publishers, they despise the PC as a gaming platform and want everyone to move to consoles. PC is, I understand, more expensive to develop games for because of the nigh infinite variety of possible hardware configurations, and PC has a higher piracy rate. Of course they don't want to give people more reasons to play games on PC.

"The Worse Mod is currently in version 0.6 and does bring a bit of a performance hit."

This is why they disabled it, all it does is make a game that runs like poop, run even poopier. :)

Yet blizzard have been a PC only publisher for most of its lifetime and rake in the cash from numerous revenue streams. Its a very poor argument to say that all publishers want console games because of "less piracy". Its just lazy, rubbish coders combined with lack of ambition.

no no no, its simpler than that, they plan to release it as a dlc, even if its free they can go 'look, we're the good guys check out this free stuff we've done for you aren't we nice, incidentally we have other dlc available'

afaik didn't bethesda do that with the hq texturepack for the pc skyrim?

Different styles of game, Blizzard don't make your standard FPS or Action games, they started their main career on a PC/OSX platform, so never needed to move to console until recently.
