Hi guys,

I'm having a real problem trying to work out if A) this card is 100% reference design and B) if the XSPC Razor R9 290X / 290 VGA Water block & Back plate will fit.

This block will just look great in my case with the LED's so I would like it if possible. Of course if not then beggars can’t be choosers and I will look for a different block (recommendation hint!)

also while I'm at it I might as well add - do you think a 360 rad will be enough for the 290x and a 4770K or should I think about adding another 240 in there?

cheers

Not a definitive answer but.....

Using that code you gave EK list 3831109869017 as the block for it
http://www.coolingconfigurator.com/step1_complist?gpu_gpus=1300

That block is the reference block so the XSPC block *should* fit, the backplate Im not sure as a quick google shows GB using different components that appear to stick up more on the back.

Try a quick note to OCUK, or someone with that specific card may be along soon.

Beware, Gigabyte Windforce cards are not of reference design..

"The WindForce 3X card will be equipped with a fully custom PCB design" - Source - (3rd line down)

Just like my m8's 780ti. WF3 custom pcb made by EK only.

You have to buy a WF3 block, but its not listed in online shop yet.

They have the matrix and asus dc2, you might have to wait.

A little more digging and I found - THIS -
Page 12 confirms custom pcb

just an update.

I finally tool the plunge and bought the EK-FC R9-290X - Acetal GPU block and can confirm it works 100%. there is very little room to vanouver when fitting it and it does feel a little tight but nothing gets squased or compressed and the fitting only took 10mins.

cheers for you help guys.

ahhh silence!
