The title says it all. I'm buying a cooler to be able to overclock my PC. My Motherboard is a Gigabyte Z97 Gaming 3, GPU is an MSI GTX770 and CPU is i5 4670k. My original choice was the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo but a lot of people told me that the Raijintek Themis is slightly better at a cheaper price. I don't know if I should go for one of these or if there is a better cooler out there waiting for me. My PC colour scheme is Red/Black (like most) so I would like it if the cooler can match it.

Not a large choice of oc capable coolers for £25. I would suggest Akasa venom voodoo but it's huge £4 over budget, yellow theme and out of stock

I have the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo and it keeps my processor sub 70 on stock clocks with badly applied thermal paste and quiet fan speeds.

There are several as good or better / cheaper than 212 now.

I bought it a year and a half ago. I really didn't want the stock Intel cooler and allows me to do slight overclocks if I want to. And it looks better in a windowed case, than the feeble Intel HSF. (In my opinion, before someone shouts at me :P )

First of all we need to know what case you have, so coolers that will fit can be recommended. But for £25 you're not going to see any benefit from changing cooler unfortunately

Going from a stock Intel HSF to a Cooler Master Evo 212 he/she sure will I can tell as I have done it personally.

I've just ordered a K2 Mount Doom for £35 delivered from MM, shame your not on there as theres another one going for the same price. Gigantic cooler so you'd need to check if it fits in your case first. I reckon mine won't clear my ram but we'll see....

Oh I thought OP already had Raijintek Themis, must have been a late night :p

Yeah going from stock cooler noise levels will be much better and so will temperatures

I received my Alpenfohm Matterhorn Pure but I think I have a problem with mine. The baseplate is supposed to be copper but mine isn't copper coloured. Instead it is metallic silver but the pipes themselves ARE copper. I'm not sure if mine is messed up or what but do you think I should return it and get a new one?

Assuming you got it from OcUK, you could call and verify this change, bit it's probably just a change in production. As long as the boxing and contents are Alpenfohn you should be good to go. The copper base is just nickel-plated.. which protects the copper from reacting with some thermal pastes.
