Motorola Moto G - new budget smartphone champion?

Is the only difference between the MOTO G and the MOTO G 4G just the obvious addition of LTE and also a memory card slot. Is the phone for all intents and purposes the same phone still under the hood?

Quite tempted to get a bog standard Moto G as I dropped my Nexus 4 (again!) and the iPhone 3GS i've got as a stand in is bloody awful.

Cant decide whether to try and fish out a second hand Nexus 4 for c.£100 or get a brand new Moto G.

motorola are on the ball again with updates.... they've already announced the first run of 4.4.3 updates to 'US' phones including the moto G.... shouldn't be too long a wait for the UK if that's the case.

Nexus devices are only now getting it so serious props to Moto if they keep this up

Personally get a good amount of life out of the battery.

I really hammered it on day in low/no signal using the GPS for turn by turn navigation and got about 8 hours out of it iirc.

On a daily basis I get about 10 hours of light usage/streaming music over 3G and using wifi

Not bad.

They will only be used at work to recieve emails, and do phone calls/texts so probably a bit lighter use than yours.

They seem to be a go'er to me!
