Hello

I'm looking for some recommendations for a new PC chair.

I've gone through quite a few over the years primarily due to them just becoming uncomfortable on my butt cheeks, or falling apart. I use the chair extensively so it needs to be of a decent build quality.

Can anyone recommend a comfortable and durable chair for ~£100?

Thank you.

Anymore suggestions?

Quite tempted to go for a black Markus from Ikea... (that's a chair, not just some bloke being auctioned at Ikea...)

been using one for about 5 years, still intact [bit of leather fading maybe] and my back hasn't yet imploded.

*disclaimer: ergonomists of ocuk, i know its an ikea link, but its a solid comfy chair for circa £100

I have two here, bought them on recommendation; they're knackered as far as I'm concerned. don't feel like I've had more than a year out of them before the padding has sank into nothing. With this in mind I'd not recommend them. They also don't go high enough; I think they could benefit from having the ability to be raised anther few inches. the lowest setting is daft.

I had a Kashmir and swapped it for said Markus (bad move?) I had it a few days and took it back. It was very comfortable, but I found it a bit too hot to sit in.

I'm spoiled all day as I sit on a HM Aeron chair at work, which is brilliant - I wish there was a clone of them as I think the asking price is too much for home, but okay for businesses where suffering artists sit all day lol. I can easily and comfortably sit on it for a very long time at work, whereas I can't do much more than an hour on this Markus chair. :(

pointless post then, as essentially I'm recommending a £1200 chair - but I am interested to see what else is around! perhaps mesh is the answer though?

Oh yay, another OcUK'ism - a 'where do put ass' thread.

Ohhh no!!! Did I waste your precious time? Best click that back button!

My brother owns a Markus and I have to say it's not looking in great shape.

Surprised that there aren't anymore suggestions. I guess a trip to Staples or something is in order.

Better yet, learn to use the search function!

I got steelcase leap from ebay, it is good for the back, only downside it does not have a head rest but it does not bother me. It has a lot of adjustments, you can move the arm rests, the back can slide back and you can control the tension of the bottom of the back of the seat and the force on the lean back and the seat moves forward and the front of the seat lifts up.
