...who are you rooting for to win the tournament and why?

I'm adopting the USA, as bad as they were against Ghana and despite them having Portugal and Germany left to play, I think that they have the potential to be the tournament dark horses if they can play to their potential. Plus, the way I see it a good cup run for them might act as a further catalyst for the beautiful game Stateside, it has already slowly been gaining momentum in recent years.

I think Germany will win it, they've got the best mixture of experience/quality/depth as well as players who know each other. Argentina have a poor balance, despite a lot of attacking quality, they don't have people to get the ball to them. Brazil look suspect all over, I think there are a few teams who could cause an upset and knock them out.

I'd like the Netherlands to win, so I'd probably go for them as my team, but it might be better for Man Utd if they get knocked out and come home sooner rather than later. I think the Netherlands weak defence will end up letting them down against a potent attack though.

Well I always cheer for the home nations and any team spain plays agasint. Would like Chile to win it. Wouldn't mind Uruguay either just for the rage in would induce in some of the British public:p

Don't care. Just want to see good and fair games now. I'm sure the old British underdog love will come out for someone at some point, but right now I just want to see this tournament carry on as it is with its free-flowing attacking football.

I'll be supporting Germany. I was actually born in Germany due to my father being in the forces. Pure English (northern) blood runs through me though and I've lived in Sheffield most of my life.

You don't need to justify it :p We quite like the Germans these days, you know ;)

The Dutch - The deserve it after years of 'almosts'

Not sure where some are coming from with the Uruguay cracks- We've never had a rivalry with them and it would reflect well on England if they went far.
