They drain the battery a lot quicker and need more volts. They have a bigger surface area (which is how they increase vapour) which takes more to heat and the first draw it normally ain't warm enough and only via use gets there.
I've not had a protank since the original (it was great but I broke the glass) I've heard the 2 and mini are both great. Most vapers I talk to are building their own coils and just use the protanks for 'going to the pub and might not come home with this'. So they just make their own coils for the protanks too. This puts them off the protank 3 because it isn't easy to rebuild.
I think you need to decide why you want to upgrade to pick what to upgrade too.
So today I took delivery of my first ever 'cloned' atty...... A KFL+ clone.
You know what? It actually feels better than the original SvoeMesto one I gto from C9V!
Better presented in the box, more stuff in the box (including a few pre made coils, which I wont be using!), more spares including two mini screwdrivers etc, the threads are far better than the original plus I've got (Its a bugger putting it back together after I've cleaned it all out) Thought that said the original non plus if got has buttery smooth threads on it. But most of all, its half the price.
I think I'll be getting clones for now on if the quality of this is anything to go by. I got an Origen v2 clone too, my first dripper! lol

Seen this thread knocking about so thought I'd stick my head in. Been using an Itaste vv with an aero tank for a week now and pretty happy with it. Just found GRUVe's old holburn ancient mix which is the best of the tobacco flavours I've found so far
I want to upgrade mainly because of boredom. However I may keep my Mini Protank 2 and start making my own coils. Unless someone here can recommend a better tank.
I really need to upgrade my battery. Most of the colour has been chipped off now and I want something that is more consistent (hence the variable voltage / wattage)
I do need to keep the portability though. So something slim. I did like the look of the Vamo V5 but I feel this is just a bit too chunky.

I went about £200 in before I was happy on various bits and bobs, thankfully at the end of it now!
Current setups which I'm happy with for now are;
- Black Fogger v4 w/ black POM drip tip on a Hana DNA30 Clone
- SS Kayfun in nano mode with a gold vapelyfe drip tip sat on a nemesis in 18350
- Brass TOBH dripper on a black 18650 jm22
- kayfun with a white POM drip tip with custom top cap.....hmmmm, maybe just one more mech to sit this mod on top of, I've another (and brand new) nemesis sat in a draw but I don't want two!

I do like the look fo the Black Fogger, is it similar size to the mini protank? However I have heard that single coils are better than dual?

No it is much bigger than a mini protank. Duel coils on a fogger are a totally different thing. You'd be running them either very low ohm or have a battery that could deal with them easy.
I maybe made duel coils sound like a bad thing before, that aren't. It is just that you need something better than an ego to run them.

Got £50 to spend. Anything I can buy that will beat these or enhance them? About to have three months off work for surgery so portability isn't exactly an issue

Haven't actually used a mini protank or any kangers, went from an iclear16 > iclear30b > RBA's
The dual coil with full airflow open on .6 ohms vapes a beauty
Juices are all home made, justvape247 for the concentrates and mix up the rest myself. Gone are the days of buying premixed juices.
Got an order on the way from Chef's Vapour who have just released their concentrates, have been waiting an age for them!

I got a AeroTank and a Vamo V5 coming from fasttech. So maybe look at the Vamo?

Yeh got some magnets and a few drip tips as well. not sure if I should get some 18650 or 18500 batteries, 18500 a bit smaller but half the capacity... Would you get less vaping power from the 18500 with a 1.5ohm coil?
