The Division Downgraded On PC

That's the thing really, the actual ideas, storylines and quests/missions behind lots of Ubisoft games are great - I really liked pretty much all the games they've made (especially Black Flag) but I just don't want to give more money to them given recent developments over their attitude to PC gamers and also the fact that, despite their games being fun and intriguing, their most recent games haven't run that well on this platform.

Spare a thought for Nvidia and GameWorks, they just partnered with a game developer that does not care about pc gamers. :o

Don't worry, I think thefogo just got a 780Ti, so that should see them through the hard times! :)

Ubisoft really have gone downhill recently, most evidence points towards them purposely downgrading the performance and visual fidelity of the PC version of Watch Dogs to suit their apparent console-centric warped agenda. They will not be getting any more of my money, not until they actively admit that they made a mistake and show that they are changing their ways.

We need more developers like CD Projekt Red out there.

Don't they use GameWorks too?

And this. People like their games so show us them as they will be and people will buy them and play them instead of all this nonsense

I actually like Watch Dogs but all the talk about how it was downgraded and alleged mods in the making for it has stopped me from playing it and spent more time trying to tweak it. Had high hopes for The Division but it will probably just be another disappointment.

Ubisoft dont make mediocure games though Matt. You are right in that as PC gamers we shouldnt buy them but first and fore-most I am a gamer. They happen to make and have made some of my favourite games ie,Far cry 2 and 3,splinter cell, watchdogs (I liked it),child of light, the last 2 ass creeds and quite a few others. Consoles are where the revenue is wether we like it or not and thats who hold sway but its worth debating that as gamers should we not be playing them because they are not as pretty as they could be? Of course its shocking and Ubisoft have a history of screwing over PC gamers and have never shown anything but contempt for us but,Man........I still like those games

I personally dont like Jim Sterling but this is worth a watch.....

Fc2 and fc3 was horrible performance and bugged up to hell. Both the games I should have completed but was denied because of the famous ubisoft game save corrupt bug.
Why is it every ubisoft game has this? Go look at the patch note for watch dogs and you see again a fix for a game save issue.
Why is it they take for ever to patch a game sometimes not even fix it at all ghost recon future solider on ps3 for example.

Ubisoft don't do patches, but if they did they probably be the most delayed patches in the world.

As long as they fix vsync in Witcher III instead of realistic fur i will be happy but CD Projekt they are not without problems. The Witcher II has a bug where if you corner with vsync on it stutters. The only way to get past it is to frame cap and disable vsync. This is with a minimum fps of 60 going down into the cells in arena option. It is clearly visable and a problem.

I still do not know if that ever got fixed and i tested this a year ago at most. As for Assassins Creed someone said it was ok that crap has a internal fps limit of 63fps aka console filfth. I mean how hard is it to let a game cap out as 120hz? You master your game and animations and timers at 60hz for consoles and 4K and let those who want get 2 frames for every 1 frame and voila no complaints.

But 63 over 60? Why the 3? Ubisoft can develop games?

Everyone does this, vertical slices are an industry-wide problem. Ubisoft just happen to be in the stocks right now.

Years ago Penny Arcade invented the term "bullshot" and to this day the practice continues, worse than ever. Perhaps with the rise of social media we can rabble-rabble-rabble enough to finally do something about this.

They have issues but unfortunately they also make some really, really good games. You're cutting your nose off to spite your face by arbitrarily avoiding their games but that is your choice of course.

And really, using the Carlsberg joke twice?

Why should I? Cloud saves as come in handy couple times for me on steam.
You think it's just me? Google ubisoft save game corrupt and see countless reports.

Step one-Buy Ubisoft game
Step two-Use dsr over a bug and lie to clueless rainforest employee in Jamacia it wont work
Step three-Profit

I still have FC2 and ETW on steam, Both refused to work for an entire year past a desktop crash. To be fair i still havent played either though even if i did not have to pay a penny for them lal. The way i see it is this, If Ubisoft are going to lie and steal then they cannot really complain when i steal from them either.

Ubisoft = Lame console developer who see PC as a chore.

I would never normally say this kind of stuff but I really hope their games get ripped to bits by pirates.

Meh, someone will probably release a patch to de-nerf it.

Or Ubi will continue true to form and remove all of the PC enhancement code they switched off this time around - thusly REALLY winding up the PC community. Which, given their previous behaviour, lies and terrible PR attempts to cover up is more likely IMO.

you know what ****es me off, is i dont see why.
i mean it's not like console gamers care about the game being better on PC, it's not like they will buy a 2000$ PC just to play their games.
ppl who pick a console they do it for their reasons, push a botton to play, small box in the living room with friends, for exclisive Titles to the console, for the gamepad, or tech specific, or they just dont want to bother with pc complexity or cost.
so why not just make a pc specific version.
is it piracy ?
if the game is really good and have multiplayer mode, it will sell.
beside ppl who download games are often kids who have no jobs, and no money to spend on games, so they are not really losing money since most of them wont buy it anyway, but at some point they will get jobs and they will buy games.
if only they gave the feeling that they are really pushing PC gaming as they should, pc gamers will support them.

It's fit for purpose of my post so yeah.

Answer why should I waste more money on there games? When I feel I been robbed countless times.

Which part of "your choice" did you fail to understand?

It's your choice but the arbitrary nature of it is still illogical. Judge each game on its merits is how I would look at it but you do what you like with your money.

If they make a good game then buy it if its not then dont.

Agree. FC3 was knackered at release for me but I still 100%'d it and thoroughly enjoyed it. Even if I did have to go to single GPU :p. Looking back at how much I enjoyed FC3 I would feel I have missed out if I had arbitrarily boycotted Ubisoft but each to their own.

I've not got a lot of Ubisoft games and can't say too many really interest me at the minute, but I'll just take it 1 game at a time. If it looks like I'll like the game, I'll get it, otherwise I won't. Graphics aren't the only thing I look for in a game and won't stop me buying a game I want or make me buy a game I don't want.

I can understand shankly's POV though. Having played BF4 I've now been put off buying any future DICE games and any future FrostBite engine games (which is unfortunate as I was tempted by Mass Effect 4). The issue that game has caused me has left a bad taste in my mouth, so if shankly's had problems with past Ubisoft games I can understand him being cautious of future ones.
