Hi chaps,

So the PC bundle I ordered from OcUK should be arriving tomorrow but I do have a slight concern in regards to the GPU and PSU.

The PSU is only 450W and I'm not sure it'll be able to supply enough juice to the card and the rest of the system...

I've spoken to OcUK and they say it should be fine but I'm not sure!

What do you guys think?

It rather depends on what PSU it is. :)

Something like a SuperFlower Golden Green HX 450W would be fine.

Something like an old, degraded, Corsair VX450 I might be wary of using.

On paper it should be ok but I would personally get at least a 650wt just for piece of mind. Rather have a bit spare than run it flat out all the time

650W would be excessive. A good 450W should do the trick, a 550W would provide a decent amount of headroom. :)

It depends on what the rest of your system is I guess but a decent 450w PSU is definitely enough for a 770 in a normal system.

People put Titans in the Silverstone SG05 mitx case with its 450w PSU.

I've read that you can only really get away with overclocking your CPU or GPU on 450w though.

I ran a 3770k and a R290 on the little 450w Silverstone SFX power supply and that GPU is a lot more power hungry then a 770.

That system pulled 380w from the wall at the absolute peak and around 330w on average.

That equates to an actual power consumption of 304w
