I'm tempted on a daily basis to buy a google glass(es?) but it's a lot to drop on a product which might just be overly gimmicky. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated

I'm jealous of the Glass.
Definitely keen to hear feedback from you.
Once they drop in price I really want a pair, but need to see what happens re using them with prescription glasses.

Augmented reality will be a game changer when it finally becomes mature. What wouldn't be better with glass?

Is that likely to happen within the lifetime of your first pair though or would the specs (no pun :p ) be able to support the requirements to run it?

I'm genuinely curious as to how they are anything but a complete gimmick, although I hadn't thought of gaming applications.

It won't happen with generation 1, as in what's out now to buy for £1000 - Think more in the future for generation 2 or more likely 3 if you're looking for AR stuff sometimes seen in SciFi movies.

I'll wait until it's 1/3rd of that price...it's a bit expensive for a novelty at the moment.

Not to mention it attracts too much attention from people who doesn't know what it is to people who do.

What on earth would you use glass for?
About the only thing is recording sports, and even then the is the benefits of being voice activated and downgraded quality worth the extra £600 over a go pro.

I'll wait till it's in contact lens form and is useful.
ATM it's an expensive gimmick, but it will get there, it won't be any time soon though.

Actually I've just looked on the website and you can get a pair of proper frames free when you buy Glass, which are then suitable for prescription lenses.

Still a bit more than I want to spend though.

Yes, it is currently a bit of a gimmick, but some of the features such as navigation in cities and VR overlays for areas could be really useful.
I would argue that the navigation would be safer for drivers too as you don't need to plonk a box on your windscreen or look down.
I assume they are/will be banned for drivers though.

Toilet paper.
I disagree. Imagine being on the toilet and using the Glass. Wiping your arse with toilet paper will be better, well, because you are wearing Google Glass.

I think he is using it for work, so probably something related.

I don't find smartphones a necessity, let alone the google glass, but I want one!! Why? Just so i can wear it! It's looks so futuristic and geeky that it would be fun to wear.

That time again! :p

My next order from Japan has arrived. :)

Here is a tease until I can collect it from the Post Office. :D
