Moon rock from gift shops

Just visited a small museam, at the end I went into their gift shop and noticed they had "moon rock" for sale, and remembered they have these in a lot of gift shops at attractions. Are they genuine pieces of the moon?? For £5 surely not haha

You mean like a stick of rock with the word moon running through the middle? I'd guess it is genuine tbh. Does it taste of the moon?

Could be from a meteorite but I doubt it lol. Anything that has come back from the moon is in science labs.

I bought and own a star btw

No its not genuine.While there is probably moon rocks on earth which came from meteors hitting the moon and the debris failing to earth none has been identified. The only moon rock on earth is from Apollo and its a very limited supply.

Actually The Moon was once part of the Earth until they split apart so any earth rock is a Moon rock.

Actually some of the moon rock was given to other countries as gifts from the USA. There wasn't much brought back on Apollo though, around 350kg or so.
