any of you guys upload to endomondo as well and can post yours for compare? I know they are likely much better than mine but still nice to get an idea of how fast everyone is over various distances

Yeh, I love this feature the only reason I still have an Endomondo account :)

Anywho, my furthest distance is 30 miles, but here are my stats:
Cycling, sport
One hour 17.28 mi
10 miles 31m:58s
20 km 40m:32s

Can't wait till next week. I finally have my first week away from work in over a year. So I'm planning my first half century ride. Just hope the weather stays good.

I've entered the 48 hour challenge and should complete it although it will be close. I'm up to 43 hours. I'll try and get a couple more in tonight but legs aren't feeling great today.

The rest will be done on Saturday.

I've been thinking about spending some time on the rest of my body as I look the complete opposite of someone who skips leg day at the gym.

I used to use Endomondo but I've stopped now. I know I've done a 10m TT in 24:19 so I'll use that as my fastest 10m and for 1 hr I'm guessing 22.5 miles based on this http://www.strava.com/activities/149881854

Yeah, i ditched endomondo as i prefer strava interface.

As Touch says, the endomondo stats for 10miles, 20 km etc are pretty meaningless as it'll just be a section of a route that had a big downhill in it or a massive tail wind whilst going in one direction only. Or you were on a bunch ride or something and getting pulled along.

I'm just slightly behind you in terms of time. Friday is a major rest day though and I'm taking it easy on Sat. Sunday is Great Manchester Cycle though so hopefully that will bump up my hours somewhat :)

they're "meaningless" but it's nice to know your fastest 10 miles for e.g. ? doesn't matter how you covered it but it's just a nice addition.. something strava is missing IMO

little bit of stretching is never bad before a long ride :D;)

So *that's* how you knacker your spokes so quickly

Agreed. I'd love to know this info.

Yes it will for June, not for the challenge though as it ends on Saturday.

it only counts the first 10 miles , 20 km etc of the ride though so unless people are starting a new ride on a hill then it will be fairly representative in your gains discounting traffic lights etc and still has some meaning although maybe not in comparison to others since everyone rides different terrain and routes but you can still get a basis I guess
thats how it appears to me anyway as my fastest 10 mile would be a lot quicker than endomondo says like on my last 61mile ride when I was going down hill for like 5 miles at 30mph and then 15mph or so for the other 5 miles
everyone who posted the stats so far ain't that far apart anyway

Its good to know my times for different segments, they are always the same (ignoring wind, etc) and I can try to beat my times and measure progress and also compare my times to other people.

The fastest of any 10 miles i'v ridden doesnt mean anything to me.
Looking through my activites, the fastest 10miles i can find is 19:40.
It's a long descent. I cant go out and try to beat that, i'll never come close on any other road. I cant use it to see my progress and i cant compare it to anybody else.

It certainly didn't when i was using it. It just takes the fastest e.g. 10km from anywhere in your ride.

Not been on it in a while, but pretty sure if you clicked on the distance in the list of 'trophies' it had given you for each distance it actually highlighted the bit in the ride it was referring to. It definitely wasn't 'from the start' every time.

Either way, if you want to know how fast you can go you'd be better of doing a TT or something. The route is out and back, so wind resistance is cancelled out, you can't draft anyone, and you can see relative to other people who ride it that day where you sit.

Edit: Yup, just logged into endomondo and that still seems to be how it works. Go to your ride, click Best Distances tab and then hover the mouse over one of them. It then highlights on the map the bit of your ride it refers to.

You must just be going fast at the start then slowing down. Mine works correctly for the fastest 10 miles of any part of a ride.

quite possibly, I'll test it next time I go for a ride on this stupidly long hill that's almost a straight path for about 10 miles

although it'll be a 10 miles I could never beat lol, I guess I could delete the ride from endomondo after though

There is a hipster cycling cafe on the way to I should check out some time there facebook page gives the impression they are very proud of the fact they want people to bring their bikes inside but need a bigger rack

LOL health and safety out the window ? :D

there website says
Coffee Beans , Bikes and beer....
A simple re-cycled retro feel cafe.
You can feel comfortable in your riding gear , wet or dry ...we don't care, its your space to meet and mingle. Bring your bike in out of the rain, let us jet wash the mud off while you have your bait.
I should put them to the test and see if they really will clean your bike

their panini menu seems stupidly hipster though which puts me off , doesn't look like they do normal food although they seem to have lots of homemade cakes according to facebook photos

I don't think any other cycle cafes in Newcastle let you bring your bikes inside, do many places where you guys live?
