Not sure, I do know when I got older I found out it was better to make my own mind up instead of reading/watching reviews. I used to read and watch Gamesmaster etc as a kid but tend not to bother now at all with reviews same with movies. Hell I won't even watch the spoilers at the end of TV shows for next weeks show![]()
Before shelling out the cash for any game these days, the first place I'll hit is YouTube to watch actual "let's play" videos from various people. Just because I'm a grown man doesn't mean I'm happy to throw my money about willy-nilly on something that might look good in trailers, but turns out to be utter tosh in practice. Same with board games and many other products.
It's a bit blinkered to think that only kids would bother to watch videos by actual commentators on games. Hell, Angry Joe throws the F-bomb around like nobody's business. Should he be banned from YouTube because he's making a bad impression on children? Of course not -- they aren't his target audience.
