Best place to book a short break to Las Vegas??

I've got 9days booked at the MGM all incusive, flights, the lot for £1100, leaving on 10th July, only booked it Monday :P

Where did you find was cheapest to book through?

I stayed at the MGM and it was fantastic - although this was waaaaaay back in 2005 I believe!

Steer clear of Treasure Island - stayed for a night during the same trip back in 2005 and it was awful! Spent an hour queuing up in line to check in only to be sent to a phone at the other end of the lobby - and I swear the same guy who sent us there answered the phone to check us in!!! (oh, and we had a couple of inches of water leak from the toilet at 2am which the hotel did nothing about!!!)

Thanks for all of the replies guys - I've got a few additional idea's on where to try to get the best rate!

As for the hotel, we are looking at a 5* all the way - like people have said, only 4 nights so can afford to pay that bit extra for a bit of luxury! :D

With 2 young-un's at home, aged 1 and 3, I doubt we'll be out partying until the wee hours - more like we'll be sleeping A LOT so a nice room is a must!

Definitely leaning towards the A r i a (anyone know why this is starred out when you type it normally??) but we'll see!

I can't wait to see how much has changed since we last went back in 2008!

If you want 5* and being a parent to a 1 yr old myself and having been to Vegas a couple of times before, I understand that you would want to get away from the hussle & bussle of being in the center of the strip, I'd recommend the Wynn.

It's quieter than the other casinos and also looks much better than the other casinos, win win :)

The A ria is definitely looking the favorite - although the Encore looks very nice too!

It's looking like 5 nights with a room upgrade to the corner suite and hopefully premium economy for the trip home too! :D

One thing I've always wanted to do there is try a gun range - can anyone recommend one not too far away that gives you a decent range of guns to try and a reasonable cost??

I stayed at Treasure Island for 10 nights about 5 years ago and it was one of the best hotels I've stayed in. The quality of the rooms were extremely high. The typical rooms (not pimpin suits) at TI are of a higher standard than MGM I believe. The MGM casino however is far far far superior (poker room was my favourite on the strip).

It's starring it out as it's also the name of a competitor ;)

Keep an eye on holidaypirates too . They have offer for everywhere, inc. Vegas, not sure if This one is still valid.

Your reasons for telling someone to completely avoid a very nice 4star hotel on the strip are rather silly IMO.

Nice editing! ;)

You had a good experience, I had an extremely poor one, I don't think it's out of line to share that opinion - especially as it's my thread!!! ;)

I would go for American Shooters over the Gun Store personally, It's not far from the strip but I had a car. Not sure how difficult it would be to get there, or how much by taxi.

Go straight to the Vice President of Hotel Operations?
That's what I'm doing :D

Heading out there in October, one of my old clients relocated with Harrahs and now heads up Ceasars Palace for Operations. It's amazing, he said they run at 98% occupancy YEAR ROUND!!!!

They do this by offering amazing rates midweek when it would otherwise be quiet. Definitely try to stay in Vegas from Sunday to Thursday night, you will get some incredible deals on fantastic hotels.
