** ASUS ROG SWIFT G-SYNC 27" 144Hz GAMING MONITOR NOW AVAILABLE!! **

I think he means a 4k monitor AND a 1080 144hz monitor AND have change left over ;)

Even if this is the only 1440 144hz monitor on the market, its overpriced purely on the $800 price tag the yanks are paying. £1 = $1.70c, $800 does not = £669/719 how ever you want to dress it up with taxes etc...

It is overpriced considering another thread has just cropped up with Acer planning a 4k by 2k monitor with gsync for £499.

The only thing this will have over that is 144hz, is that really worth another £200?

ASUS have always added a ridiculous premium to many their products, they do it with GPU's a lot as well. Remember their platinum 7970's costing £100 more than other 7970's that were just as good.

You are still paying in excess of £1500 to run 4k. Saw a post with Gibbo quoting 4 titan blacks to get 4k running nicely, setting you back a cool £3600 + monitor price.

Yep but with 4k the need for AA/AF is far reduced, turn that off and you can get ok performance with just a pair of Titan Blacks or 780Ti's. :)

Just ok? :p All im saying is that even with 2 Titan blacks + a samsung 4k monitor you are still looking at £1800 minimum, for ok performance.

Hi there

Guys myself and NVIDIA have worked hard to get this information from Asus and to ensure OcUK have the majority of all the UK stock.

hmmm really now :p

let me guess the money goes out straight away and not at dispatch

When are we likely to see the reviews on this, is the NDA as per shipping date on the site??

@Gibbo heres hoping you make plenty of profit on the first batch so you can sell the next lot at a more reasonable price ;)

Needs to be £600 then i'll happily buy if its upto scratch.

Not at all the 4k monitor I mentioned has gsync so even at lower fps it will be smooth as Gibbo said this is where it benefits most. You don't need 2 titan blacks either, a couple of 290x's run most titles at 4k over 50fps average.

Also if you're buying the SWIFT, to benefit from it fully you'll need to be at 120-144fps, so you'll still need 2 high end cards to do that...

I think there has been a thread discussing this, gsync wont make 25fps look good, it will just smooth out the drops & falls from say 50 to 25. Ill try and find where I read it.

I didn't say it would make 25fps look great, 30-60fps will be fine though.

At 1440p a single 780/290 will struggle to maintain 60 at all times maxed out so I don't see why the argument of needing 2 high end cards to use a 4k 60hz monitor properly is any different to needing 2 high end cards to run the swift at 144hz properly.

That exactly what it does and it's typically 25-50fps you will see at 4k with a pair of the best cards, so it could be great for 4k gaming.

I see what your saying, but for say somebody like me going from a TV to a monitor if I wanted to go 4k, which was at first is what I was intially going for. I'd have to fork out £500 for the monitor + another £550 for another 780ti SC plus I'm the kind of person that likes 50+ fps i'd ideally be going for another ti. Where as with the ROG I will still get 90+fps on most games that I play + saving another £500.
Each to their own I suppose.

Just received an e-mail from one of your competitors and they are already undercutting your price on this by £50 with an eta only a week later. Is this price likely to move even with just this first batch?

Nope. So far all the orders we have taken are from our first batch so those ordering will definetely get one and I know the total volume entering the uk on the first shipment is sub 100 units.

I did say other etailors would be at £669 - £799 which is £50 less than us.

That's a shame but I appreciate the honesty. Ultimately I want to buy from here as I've only ever had positive experiences. I just dont want to pay the amount you are currently asking :p

Not shocked on the price, though my limit for this monitor was £550. Looks like i wont be getting, even when the stock settles! :D

4K it is then, now for me to stop spending money...:p
