Never heard of this brand, but I'm guessing they are 'Eastern' and fairly cheap. But these specs looks mighty interesting. VA panel for one has piqued my interest...

Oh 30Hz?

I suppose that was to be expected given the sizes and market segment!

Ah that's a good point!

The only problem for us here is the "only" way to check one out is to import. Actually I'm going to email them, perhaps a review model of the 32"?

A way to test customer service too I guess.

We will probably get re badged models for twice the price lol

They always do downscaling though people dont buy Seiki to run 4K 60hz with 12bit VA. They buy them and run them with lower res and higher hertz. Now if the 28" can do 12bit colors on VA at 100hz and i can downscale the res from 4K?

Count me in! But i cannot see it.

Just because the spec for the connectivity supports 60Hz does not necessarily mean the panel will run at it.

From the press release:
Seiki Pro 4K displays are designed to deliver the ultimate desktop computing experience for intensive computer graphics, photo and video editing, and programming applications, as well as fast-paced 4K PC gaming at up to 60 frames per second

I was thinking of picking up a Iiyama ProLite B2888UHSU-B1 but if this set of monitors prove to have those specs and Seiki keep to their words, then I am going to wait for the 32" model.

It will definitely do at least 60hz at 4k.

Assume it's one of the new AUO VA 4K panels. If response times and input lag are fairly low, it'll look WAY better than the TN and IPS-type (Sharp IZGO) panels available now. Contrast and blacks will look immeasurably better. Availability isn't expected for this monitor before Q4 (or even Q1 '15) according to Seiki.

Either way, given Seiki's pricing models, I'd expect this screen to be the best price/performance proposition on the market for 4K, when it hits, and possibly best price/performance of any monitor on the market.
