Since installing the Android 4.whatever with Sense 6 update on my HTC One, WhatsApp is now essentially unusable.

It's always been a bit flakey at times but now almost any time I click a message of conversation from my notification window it takes approximately 20 seconds of waiting and blank screens before it'll eventually load. It frequently stops responding. I've tried deleting the WhatsApp image folder to no avail, what else can I try?

Anyone else had this?
 
WhatsApp is working fine for me on HTC One M7 Sense 6/Android 4.4.2.

Have you tried uninstalling the app, deleting the WhatsApp folder with a file explorer, and then reinstalling it?

Another thing to try is clearing the cache partition to remove any lingering files from the previous version of Android which may be conflicting with the new files: http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=26438624&postcount=6359

I've been having problems with whatsapp.

The keyboard and back buttons fail to respond. If I quit it from the task manager then re-open it's ok but it does it a lot!

I don't know if it's whatsapp, swype or my ROM.
 
Do you use Swype? That gave me problems with Whatsapp a while ago, changed to Swiftkey and it seems fine.
 
I remember using Swype and it was pretty sluggish appearing and disappearing. Moved to Google Keyboard and it's much faster.

There have been no core functionality changes to WhatsApp since Facebook acquired it. Hell even they commented saying they have no intention of changing anything in WhatsApp as it works fine the way it is. they've added some new features though like calling and whatnot.

My WhatsApp used to be slow but then I cleared over 9000 images consuming 6GB of space.
 
HTC one fully updated and working fine here,not had one problem since I got this phone 15 months ago.

Got to be something you have done on your phone, you tried wiping it and reinstalling? clearing cache etc?

I think WhatsApp is my main used app, mainly because I got a group on there with about 18 of my mates with the title "keep calm it's only banter" haha anyway yeah we a have a laugh.
