Show us your kitty cats

Just last month my manager was upset as her 3 year old Bengal got run over and killed, and she lives out in the country.

Everyone I know who has had cats and let them outdoors has lost one or more to traffic. Cars & trains mostly.

Let's face it, most of us don't live on a remote island where it's 100% safe to let their cats outside.

Is it better to let a cat outside and have it die prematurely, or let it live a safe, pampered life inside? With a lot of attention and love why shouldn't an indoor cat be happy?

Or you could buy a kitty leash and take her for walkies :p Something I'd probably do if I had a cat as I have absolutely no concern for my self-image :p My family did say they'd disown me, however...

It is people forcing them to stay inside under the guise that some random offender might abuse/torture their poor feline that I disagree with... a few rare reports of this type of thing get media attention and suddenly everyone is terrified the same thing will happen to them. THAT is my point in alternate words... Human fear-based restriction of an animal that may well want to go outside given half a chance, but no... fear-based over-protective nanny culture wins again :p

It's recommended some breeds are kept indoors though, Ragdolls for example because of their behaviour.

Mine won't ever be let out by themselves, they get some time in the back garden but other than that they will always be house cats.

Thanks for the kind words about losing my old cat Meiko, but I now have his little sister which the breeder extremely kindly gave us for free.

We named her Skyla, she's a Tortie point Siamese, just over 5 months old. :)

That's a good outcome given the circumstances mate. Nice one. I found out recently that Siamese cats faces go darker depending on the heat of the country they grow up in....cool :D

He's so awesome, first day with us yesterday, girlfriend let him sleep on the bed though so I've had hardly any sleep, she's had even less as he kept kneading her in the face all night :D

Back from honeymoon and got work this week....feeling s88t about it...until I saw these pics and they put a huge smile on my face. Love it when a kitten gets a good home :D

Well everyone say hello to Keith the kitten, hes somewhere between 3-5 weeks old, orphan little boy - we first spotted him wondering around in the garden of a boarded up house, went to investigate, found a shed with possibly 2-3 dead kittens, hard to tell as they were ripped to shreds :( quickly scooped him up and asked around the neighbours and nobody has a female that was pregnant, so home we went, got some lactol milk and gave him a feed. Went to the vets last week and got a good bill of health, been wormed, antibiotic injection as a precaution.
This is him today, full of energy apart from when he sleeps, ill get better pics at some point - the cat litter he does use, but likes failing asleep right after doing his buisness when we feed him lol
He is joining our ever growing collection, hes the 4th addition, 1 6 year old female Coco, 1 3 year old male Smudge, and a half blue persian female also 3 year old called Misty.

You legend for saving that cat. Take a bow squire.

Meh, cat been missing for around 5 weeks :( He hass previously disappeared before (12 days, came back as if nothing happened) and would quite frequently not be around for a few days but never this long. He disappeared around the time 2 male cats were hanging around. Hoping its because of that and has found somewhere else to go.

I take it he's chipped and you've phoned round all the places you should? :(

Yeh. The other thing was I was looking after kittens in my house, they were all rehomed just after he disappeared but he didn't like them (hissed at them when I opened the door). Just hoping that he is living somewhere else (I've always thought he had a 2nd home, because he was never around every day).

I wish that too knip unfortunetly the tech to do that isn't cheap enough I don't think. Plus what do you do about battery life? You have to find a power source that will last the life time of a cat, personally don't want to put a nuclear power plant in my cats rofl.
