i wont go into much detail but apart from the lease what other costs are involved.

i would appreciate some help please with some figures from you nice nice people out there to get a general idea.

lease and accountant, computers are all taken care of.
i would want payment by card so that needs to be taken into account.

thanks in advance

Don't know that much about this, but I would suspect it's hard for anyone to tell you what costs are involved without knowing what kind of shop you're planning.

They'll be basic stuff I imagine like utilities (electricity), insurance, security, stock, wages.

Stock, accountant, business registration, payment system for cards, pos software, computer or till, security(?), utilities, insurance both contents and public liability.

Its a bit general but I imagine the lease to be the cheap part sometimes :(

Shelving? Rather expensive item I believe some contents insurance require a specific grade of shelf so it doesn't collapse.

Broadband is obviously a must along with telephone line.

Bank account.

You might have to get a lawyer involved for sales regs. Unsure if a boilerplate versions exists(guess it depends on what you're selling).

A safe! (How could I forget that one).

A web presence would be necessary this day and age.

Business rates is a biggie depending upon where and how big your shop is.

E: When you open, forget paying for advertising for a while, it will be dead money. Call all the local rags and offer then the scoop of covering your grand opening and hammer social media :)

Well since we don't have a massive amount of information from your OP I can say this...

My dad recently managed the construction of a shop for a company. The total contract value was £7m, this included fitting, planning, legal and environmental management. Thus I think we can assume yours will be in this region too.
