Just browsing ebay for some cheap games to add to my ps4 (only got it on Monday)
Upon looking there are tons of games but in the title "secondary account"
Why is this?
Why on earth would you buy a game and not link it to your main account?
And the flip side of that, who is buying them

Just seeing secondary account, puts me off straight away

No i mean is if i wanted to buy a game say tomb raider
Why would i add to another account? Just so that i can sell it on afterwards?
If thats the case might as well buy the disc copy

I'm assuming they buy the games in different regions where the cost is lower and then sell the new accounts with the games linked to it (same for xbox one games which I've seen many new games on new accounts). I might be wrong of course.

I was tempted by these until read this on one of the adverts:

IMPORTANT: The game download file must be ALWAYS kept in your PS4 and can be downloaded ONLY ONCE. So if you delete it from your system, CAN'T be re-downloaded again

That's a deal breaker for me

Really dodgy account sharing scheme (they could at any time cancel you as the drm holder). Don't bother buying or you will regret.

It's not so they can sell it on afterwards, they can sell it immediately. They download it to this second account on their ps4, they can play it then on their main account. No need for the second account now so they sell it.

wrong - you need to have the account with the games on it set the ps4 as it's primary ps4 to play games on any other account, which can only be done on one ps4.

once they sell it, effectively the new owner now owns the account and they will disable this and make their ps4 the primary one.

it's because you cannot add them to your main account. they have been added to an account so they can be sold on.

other sites let you buy a code where you type the code in and the game is then added to your main account.

it's to distinguish between these practices.

there is plenty of ways to get cheap games without resorting to paying for someone elses account. they could sell you it then change the password because they have set the account up to "their" email address. so they could change it after 3 months and then sell it on to someone else, rinse and repeat.

Surely this breaches ebays terms, same as why wow accounts can't be sold on there.

What games you interested in ?

Yeah id delete that mate
But thanks
I was after tomb raider, but got it from zavvi for £24.98 (i know its £24 at game now lol)

snitches get stitches :p

Meh. I'm just interested to see if Ebay will do anything about, rather than it actually bothering me.
*edit*
The person I've reported it selling Knack for £28 when you can buy the disc based version brand new for £20  If people are stupid enough to buy a game this way then that's their problem.

a lot of idiots on ebay.

you could be selling an item which can be bought for £60 elsewhere brand new and it sells for £75 in a bidding war.

then try and sell something which can be bought for £150 brand new and it only goes for £50 in mint condition.

They way they are doing it is creating a new Playstation account, buy the game digitally then sell it to two people at the same time. Its safe if you are buying the primary one but obviously not as the secondary, guess they use codes to get the price lower so will be making about a tenner after charges for each game, when you see the amount some of the sellers have sold then its a pretty sweet racket they have going.
