Bath/Shower Fitting costs

Hi,

If I buy in a new shower and bath, what kind of rough costs / time would I be looking at to remove the current shower/bath and replace with new one? This is just a shower on the wall with a bath under it with a side screen.

And (silly question), is this a job a plumber can do in its entirety or do I want to find some kind of bathroom fitter?

Thanks a lot :)

prepare to get rekt on installation.
You may think its just that but what about tiling, wall filling, floor etc?
bathroom components are super cheap, its the labour and tiling that is insanely expensive.

Time is dependant on the firm + anything that they need to source along the way, technically a decent team could do it in a weekend, normally its under a week, 2 weeks would be considered a joke imo.

To be honest the less people in your home the better, always check how many fitters there will be and if someone will be brought in to do any wiring etc or if the plumber is qualified to do that.

Hmm ok thanks, I'm hoping my current floor and tiling will suffice, it's really just a bath/shower swap out. I guess things might not line up and need retiling though so that's a good point thanks.

It looks like I can get all the bath/shower/taps/etc for £700-800. I was just wondering a ballpark of what fitting would cost, i.e. is it unlikely to come to a further £700-800 again if minimal other work needs doing?

It'll cost a grand, everything does!

Seriously if it is a straightforward swap I would expect it to come in around your estimate including ripping out the old one etc. If the new bath is a different length or hight or the new shower has a very differrent shape and input layout expect the price to rise.

A plumber/bathroom fitter should be able to take care of the lot and sort a qualified sparky to sign off the shower if necessary.
