Been looking at those PTFE based ones on Ebay,But can anyone recommend a certian brand they would recommend?

The one ive been looking at is...

AutoKit Pro PTFE Car Polish, Zonyl Polymer Carnauba Wax Paint Sealant Protection.

Basicly i just want to restore the shine, and seal it so the water runs off!

Car is VW Golf GTI MK4,If thats of any interest. :p

Personally I use Meg NXT techwax which is a liquid wax, good finish but needs to be kept topped up.

Dodojuice supernatural is generally very well regarded and probably what I will get next :)

Hawker

I would not buy any car wax / polish that makes PTFE claims (or as used by NASA).
PTFE is not useful in car polish I think they just sprinkle a bit in so they can use it as marketing ********.
PTFE coating is a complex and hostile process - the PTFE is formed on the surface, not made before hand and put on.

If you want a good wax to repel water I recommend Collinite 476s, very long lasting and a fair few others on here can vouch for how good it is, cheap too! I shot this video earlier today showing it off on my car...

On the car at the moment I've got Collinite 476s for durability. Then every couple of washes I put Sonax xtreme brilliant shine over the car. The sonax is amazing stuff.

I tend to only stick to either Megs or Naviwax. Dodojuice is highly recommended so I might try that at some point, but I think my next one will be Werkstat.

Fk1000p = job done!

Just started using this and it us superb. Takes zero effort to apply and buff off. Provides nice shine, a wet look gloss for a few days after, perfect for shows.

Water beads well and the wax/sealant stops watermarks and streaks appearing. It seems very hard wearing so far although I only have 6-8 weeks use from it and have applied it twice. It is VERY easy to top up though. More so than any other wax I gave ever used.

Zero downsides as a protective summer wax. Nice and affordable and it has a shark on it.

I use Collinite 476.
I am sure Autoglym HD wax is awesome but it is very pricey. I have not used it though.

Collinite will continue being my winter wax. Its cheap again and very hard wearing. Only a small amount is required to get good protection as well. Overworking it becomes a pain to remove.

In my experience, using it twice before giving it away, the HD wax is very showy, but not hard wearing enough and I ended up giving mine away as it didn't fit my needs.

Autoglym HD here. 2 months after detail.
