My norton 360 package is up for renewal next month and I don't fancy paying 60+ quid they want me to pay to renew. Any recommendations for other av suites??

A: dont renew. buy a new package its cheaper
B: If you have been happy with 360 then get it again

its has to be either 360 or Kaspersky IMHO

I hate it when the AV companies charge more for renewing than buying new, its taking the pish out of all their customers but norton are not alone they all do it now. Like people have said if your happy with it buy new from the place of the jungle and river its £14.

Just me that doesn't use AV?

Haven't had it for years and ran a free software the other day and I only had 2 'problematic' files on my 1000gb of files

Avast with Comodo's firewall. Also use Malwarebytes, Spybot, Spyware Blaster and CrytoPrevent.

Usual nasty basher addon's in my Firefox browser.

Ample free stuff out there to protect your system.

What we need is an independent study on the effectiveness of free and paid for antivirus software.

If you do online banking with Barclay's then you can get Kaspersky free every year. That's what I've been using for a few years now. Chuck in some Malware Bytes too for belts and braces.
