I've had enough of my benQ 24" 1080p monitor I fancy something with a higher resolution.

I can't really afford and mega expensive monitors so is there much differnece to the eye between a 24" 1200p than a 27" 1440p monitor?

The ones i'm looking at are

Hazro HZ27WiE 8-Bit 27" Glass LED @ £299.99 (bit much to be honest)
Asus VS24AHL 24.1" @ £229.99

Thanks for any help.

The Hazro I think the quality are hit and miss, there's supposed to be a lot of backlight bleed which would annoy me. The Asus is the same size as the one you have now, is it really worth spending £230 on a monitor the same size?

Is the difference between a 16:9 1080p and a 16:10 1200p monitor really going to be much of a difference? I don't think a 1200p monitor is going to be much of an upgrade at all if higher resolution is what you're after

The difference between 24in 1200p and 27in 1440p is significant, the pixel density is a fair bit better (109ppi vs 94ppi) and there are a lot more pixels (3.68 million vs 2.3 million) - so the 27in gets you a sharper image as well as a much larger display area.

However, as the guys have mentioned the build quality of ASUS and Hazro monitors are not comparable. For a 1440p monitor built to the same standard of the ASUS 1200p you need to be spending around £400. Therefore, if the Hazro is already a stretch then you are likely better off going for a well built 1200p monitor from ASUS or Dell.

That all said, you may want to consider a 29in 2560x1080 monitor. This is a very wide monitor size with a PPI of 97 and IPS panels. They are not quite as good as a 1440p 27in due to their lower pixel denisity and lower vertical resolution, however they are rather well priced between the 27in 1440p and 24in 1200p models, so are worth considering.

You should really continue with the listing trend you start off with, I had to look twice because It looks like you're listing the 24in having 109ppi and 3.68mP :D

in my opinion it's not really worth going 1080p to 1200o, you'll gain roughly 10% vertically but nothing horizontally.

If you're going to upgrade it has to be 1440p or above (4k.... will be my next step up from a 24" 1080p screen) to make any real difference in my opinion.

OP, have you considered dual monitor setup?

Right seeing as i now have a r9 290 back to this.

Haven't really considered a dual monitor as i play a lot of fps fo will annoy me as the middle will be over the 2 monitors and i site quite close to the screen anyway.

Is the hazro really that bad? Its got some good reviews on other sites?

I believe (correct me if I'm wrong) that they did two versions of the same model... 1 with a glass front and one without...

They still use the same panels-LG are they?

Either way, I went from a 24" BenQ @ 1080 to this 27" Hazro @ 1440 and absolutely love it :D

Little nervous about the Hazro HZ27WiE 8-Bit 27", but it is cheap. also I have 14 days to return if I don't like it. Just want to make sure it doesn't have a power brick like my DGM does. I'm giving that one to my wife when I find a new one :)

I've got two Hazros. Had them for a few years now no real issues. The quality isn't prefect but good enough for the money. Mine have no glass and they do have a power brick but again no issues. Remember some people are more particular than others, try one and return if you don't like it :)
