Best antivirus ??

Eset smart security IMO. About 30 quid for the year and nice light footprint.
I would have agreed with this a while back, but now I'm even finding it hard to convince myself ESET has a "nice light footprint".

As I look at my task manager now, ESET Smart Security v7 shows a usage of around 107MB!

With that being said how much RAM does your PC have? 107MB is a drop in the ocean with people having 8GB or more RAM these days. I still use ESS and refuse to use anything else.

Stoner81.

I have 4GB of RAM, agreed it can easily absorb the 100MB or so. But it's harder to recommend ESET ESS to other users with 1GB of RAM, when you know full well it will gobble up 10% of their RAM.

My Avast is using 2.5mb and 14.3mb for all its services in Task Manager so virtually zero.
