What was the last game you thought was very good on the pc ?

I've not seen anything good on the pc since skyrim and ME3 which was 2011.

I'm starting to think developers are running out of idea or like making them console exclusives

Off the top of my head.

South Park - The Stick of Truth.
Really do need to do a 2nd playthrough as a Jew.

I've not played it, I thought it would just be a basic, game to make money.
was it that good or ate you a south park fan ??

Papers Please is good but after a play through or two is boring.

I rate Farcry 3 really highly also, Splinter Cell Blacklist is pretty good. I haven't played too many single player games recently.

Deus Ex: HR was probably one of the better ones, didn't hit the heights I was hoping for but did keep me interested. I've really enjoyed Dishonored - partly as per the comment below because amongst other things they got the accessibility to the game right, for the most part game mechanics and movement just work as you'd expect, etc.

Lot of games have fallen short that should have been good i.e. Skyrim the controls, ui and other clunky mechanics made it somewhat inaccessible from the start which is never a good thing.

After all I'd heard I really expected a lot from Fallout, it utterly failed to let any expectation of mine. Played an hour or two and could not get into it at all. Horrible everything.

I'm going to give Skyrim my best shot.

What you're asking strikes true for console gaming too, very few have been released that were really good, and of the titles you've noted they are single player console primary games. To me the PC holds it own for very competitive online gaming, MMORPGS, first call for indie games, strategy games and niche games/sims.

I'm personally going to say Counter Strike Global Offensive - this added the competitive nature that CS:S was lacking and for that it will get hours of gameplay, more so than any single player game I'll own. There is a gimmick in getting fancy weapon skins but this at least rewards for putting hours in.

Insurgency and Rising Storm also fill a niche not found on a consoles which whilst frustratingly hard have become a firm favourite of mine for the sheer unique experiences they offer alone.

I think its happening too often on sequels, do a quick job, stick the name on it and hope a lot of people buy it use to the name, look at fable its not be good since the first one.

I just dont know why pc games don't cover more for better games, or at least port console games, like assassin creed.

why cant the make a fun game like mario or sonic for the pc, its just fun nothing else, the play station seams to be doing this

call of juarez: gunslinger.

Nice narrative, interesting combat and actually quite hard. Very arcade like for an FPS but the weapons are all very satisfying to use.

Game Dev Tycoon

Cost absolute peanuts for the hours I have thrown at it
Some really nice mods available for it.. expansions, overhauls etc

Its the sort of game I could forsee doing pretty good if a studio made a bigger release (I believe the developers for GDT were a 2 man team)

Can you list a few decent mods? Cheers!
