Sniper Elite 3 (free DLC on preoder)

I think he means he will wait til mantle is ready as messing about mid game will ruin the immersion.

Side note though Matt has 290 crossfire so mantle isnt even needed

Any simple playing it in dx with his 2x 290s, which are optimised for the AMD title, won't give the same level of immersion? Never read anything like it, honestly.

i'm Playing it right now, i'd say it's very annoying because the sniper rifle is only accurate if you hold your breath via the ``E`` KEY, if not and you just point and shoot, like with a normal shooter, it misses every time :eek: even at point blank range.... this is extremely annoying, it only behaves like a real sniper rifle in Cadet mode, because the harder the mode the sillier it gets.

at these close ranges you dont need to allow for wind direction and fall of shot, the gun is also totally useless if you've just stopped running, because if your heartbeat is too high, you loose a massive amount of accuracy.

MalX, I'd like to see you try and score a 'kill' on a paper target 200+ metres away after coming out of a sprint. Sniper rifles aren't light y'know, especially not ones from WW2, with the heavier materials being used (wood etc).

no i mean much closer than this, because the sniper rifle misses the target at only 60ft away (if you've been sprinting first that is) it was doing this all last night, the only way around this is to switch to the Sten Gun for close range.

the problem with this game is that you're having to run for cover all the flipping time , this is not an ideal sniper game the AI is too close, you spend a lot of time killing via stealth instead.

i'm going to try opening fire from a far greater range tonight, i'm not going to get so close to the enemy...see how this works.

Ordered this tonight on CJS keys and no code from them :(

Still no code from CJS keys. Because my account email is different from my paypal email address, I have to validate my paypal email address with them, yet they havent sent out a validation email!

:( Very angry, I don't think I will be using them again. :(

Is there anywhere else I can get this cheap? Steam price is crazy!

It'll be in your spam folder of your Paypal email mate

Checked that right away, its not there. I've tried retrieving my key a few times, and each time it says they will send a verification email to my paypal address. No email!

I raised a support ticket yesterday, no reply as yet :(

for the verification link. Once you've verified you are the owner of the Paypal email address then we will be able to process your order.

No email, what a bunch of jokers

Want this but I fear 40 notes is far too much, and then the predicament with the keys. Is there a safe place to buy this for cheaper?

I just got a code from a different keys site and Steam has accepted the code ok (including a separate code for some DLC)

Happy enough so far, they said delivery would be max 2 hours and it was :)

This game is much better now
it just takes time to get used to it, some of the snipering is brilliant, especially if you can shoot their b*** off :D:D

According to benchmarks it seems very well optimised. Props to Rebellion for their excellent work tbh. Mantle may benefit the multiplayer aspect of the game more than the single player in my opinion, but we'll see. Sniper Elite games have traditionally been gpu limited and i can't see this one changing that. It will be interesting to see what sort of uplift Mantle offers in this gpu limited scenario. I would expect the uplift to be lower than what we've typically seen in other frostbite titles.

yes, this game runs very well, in fact it's the most reliable game i've downloaded this year, it starts up very quickly and has a nice easy menu to navigate.....

the graphics is sharp and clear, but it lacks the fancy stuff that you see in Metro and Crysis, probably why it runs so well.

it has a ``shoot Hitler`` expansion mission as well, i've just seen it on Steam, i may as well download that

This is a strange mix. As a sniper, striking from a distance and then 'melting away' the game encourages stealth elements for most of the levels so far that I've played. But then 5 mins after starting a level it throws a complete curve ball at you. 'Take out that motor-pool' or 'Those trucks look like they need destroyed' it announces. So you shrug your shoulders after taking 10 mins to stealthily sneak to the position you are in overlooking your target. You now pop down the hill to the assembled vehicles in question lobbing grenades and dynamite at them before causing an explosion which would knock the planet earth off its axis. All hell breaks loose. Enemy troops go mental, hunting everywhere for the antagonist. If you weren't quick or clever enough to withdraw to a safe position, tracer bullets whiz past your ears as you scramble to safety. And then......

Silence. All is peaceful in the world. The troops slowly return to their patrol routes, carefully stepping over the shattered and dead corpses of their colleagues and continue the rest of their shift, thinking about knocking off time and grabbing a Bratwurst sandwich for their dinner. Not in the slightest bothered about the fact that apparently there is still an Allied maniac hiding in the undergrowth with an Garand rifle about to drop them in true horrific bullet cam fashion.

Sneakiness and stealth suddenly intermixed with chaos and noise which abruptly subsides. It just doesn't 'flow' for me. It's an enjoyable romp I admit, but I seem to be employing the same tactic over and over which is to hell with the stealth elements - Just head towards your target, scan the horizon with your binos and mark your targets. Take them down with your scoped weapon of choice at long distance and move forward. There may be the odd straggler now and again but just riddle him with rounds from your MP-44, wait for the alert to calm down and the Bratwurst eating to commence then rinse and repeat. ;)

Picked this up tonight and I'm rather enjoying myself on it. Playing on sniper elite difficulty as I'm familiar with the previous games and its a very nice challenge whilst teaching patience at the same time. Three levels in so far and loving it.

Up to mission 6 and the AI bugs are really starting to frustrate me, I've had several occasions where I get spotted and the warning marker sticks to me not matter what I do. I know I'm not being seen as it happens even inside buildings or tunnels and all I can do is reload the game.

On top of that, I've had to restart a mission 3 times because when I load up a save game I get shot by a tank some 800m away (that hadn't seen me when I saved) or spotted by AI that fails the mission.

The actual shooting part is okay but the AI just ruins it completely in places and trying to play stealthily becomes a chore as it's easier to just pick off 1-2 people then let the rest of them come to you one at a time like lemmings.

I really want to like the game but right now I can't recommend it.
