Max speed of 49.7mph on one of the descents! :S

You nearly hit 50 going down Harting Hill? Mentalist! :eek::cool: I hate going down that hill as I struggle to stop before the junction at the bottom.

I did that descent for the first time in a long time earlier this week and as I neared it it started raining. That was the same day I saw a bunch of people complaining how poor my tires grip in the wet. That was NOT fun.

I'm cack at hills but I'd still rather climb it than go down it anyday!

Descending the steep side coming from Uppark direction however is much more fun :D

HAHA, someone commented the other day that I'd done more rides than days per year so far! When you commute to work, thats two, plus a ride out after dinner, so potentially 3 rides in a day, and a TT for me will be warm up, reset, TT, reset, warm down.

It all adds up!

same here -;

YTD

Rides 315

well done.. I've got next week off.. might pop down to RP and see what's it's all about.. I guess during the working day it isn't as busy as it would be during the weekend?

I imagine it should be less busy during the day not on weekends. Ideally though, getting there really early or really late will give you the least amount of traffic.

Me and Steve usually get there not long after 6am when the park is still closed to cars.

Just had a week in hospital.
Turned out I was full of ****, literally!

I lost 5kg, and can now actually bend over to tie my laces and breathe.

Can't wait to get back on the bike, all my recent clothing purchases are useless, too big!
I will have to buy new trousers, Jeans, shorts, cycling tops, going to cost me a fortune.

I had been like that for years.

right, sounds like I need to figure out where the gates are to get in the park :) as it's a 11ish mile journey to get there, figure out how to get in.. do 3ish laps and head back lol.

@skodamart wtf 5kg??

My bowel was full.
So bad my bladder was squashed like a pregnant woman.

My wife brought me in early hours of Sat morning.

I'm 6'3", I guess I carried a big gut better than most.

I've not eaten in 4 days combined with the weight lost from my gut.

Can't wait to get on the bike, it will feel like I'm turbo charged!

In the middle of a **** a thon now.
Another Enema on the way lol!

Still in hospital, hoping to be out for day 2 of Le Tour!

finally got the KOM I was chassing for a while.. got 5th yesterday and KOM'ed it today!

new bike feels very good, very stiff and very easy to get up to speed and keep it going - less work by the feels of it compared to triban.

one thing that's annoying me is the transfer between the hood rubber and the bar.. there's a bump that makes it a bit painful to hold on to the hoods..

bad tape wrapping I guess.

It's a common issue with SRAM unfortunately - Google will throw up lots of other people with the same problem. Genius bit of design where they have a really sharp bit of plastic where your ulnar nerve sits on the hoods - numb hands ahoy on long rides. I've rewrapped my bars so many times and it's very hard to make it perfect. Apparently certain bars have a better bar-to-hood transition than others but it's trial and error really.

ahh.. boo :) shimano hoods were very comfy, should get new bar tape today so I'll play around with the old one until I get a good feel.

have you seen any info or articles around the net on this? I'd love to find the "proper" way to wrap them, google fu is letting me down a bit today :(

Anyone used total cycling.com before?

Their website seems fairly good, but they get mixed reviews online with quite a few poor ones from a few years ago...

Ordered a few bits from them but wondering how long to give it before worrying.
