Corsair Hydro Series HG10 GPU liquid cooling bracket

Its the fan off the 290 it gets taken off the heatsink and put onto the bracket. I can't hear mine at all till it gets to around 30%

Ahhhh that's a shame - I just spotted this and it looks pretty impressive. My whole machine is almost silent so I can definitely hear the 290 fan unfortunately :(

I wonder what it would be like if I edited the BIOS with a minimum fan speed of 10-15%. Assuming it's possible on these that is.

Wait...so they are charging extra for fan which they should put on the HG10 IN THE FIRST PLACE? I mean come on! The stock fan and the aluminum bracket at $40/£40 is over-priced in itself already. Capitalism at the finest...

No, you take the fan off your r290 heatsink and put it onto the bracket, they're offering a different variation of the fan for sale as well at some point.

Could just use afterburner to turn the fan down.

Hang on, I thought the HG10 comes with the fan of the 290 series by default according the the earlier videos and pictures?

Nope, its literally just a bracket. The card in the vids is an r290 variation hence whey you see the fan on it :)

This video explains it, though the temps in the vid are at 74c for some reason, most likely just an early non finalised version. You can see just how slow the fan is spinning in this so most likely it won't be audible at all.

Bloody hell! So the $40/£40 is just for the piece of aluminum bracket? That's some expensive aluminum! You can get a half-decent PC case with that kinda of money!

I'm not sure about taking fan from the reference cooler...if not careful, warranty might be voided. OcUK allow removal of reference cooler for some brands, but he said nothing about removing the fan itself from the reference cooler...

The fans only held in with a few screws, your warranty is technically voided when you take the heatsink off anyway. :p

Its a tossup between this or the kraken and the kraken has the issue with vrm's getting very hot. This for me anyway is more appealing depending on how it actually turns out with reviews etc.

Unfortunately the 20% minimum is hard coded in the BIOS and can't be changed with afterburner and the like.

So basically unlike Corsair have taken a AIO fitting method from the community, slapped their name on it and attached a massive premium just like Arctic and NZXT did.

They just chose a different method:

Yup, can be no doubt its something that was taken from the mod community and put into a retail package.
