Our New World NW70G oven has just decided to die - won't stay lit when you let go of the knob. :(

Research has led me to the conclusion that the thermocouple/flame-sensing safety device has failed, meaning it needs a whole new burner unit (http://www.partmaster.co.uk/new-wor...id=1989658&path=78825,267883&model_ref=400657).

What do you reckon is a fair price to have this replaced?

I'm guessing it's a 2hr job max, £40-£50/hour so, £100 labour + the part? Does that seem reasonable, or am I over or underestimating?

Cheers.

What is the model of the cooker, you should only need the thermocouple.

It's an NW70G. You can get the thermocouple for the grill on it's own, but I can't see a separate one for the oven anywhere.

and...

You can buy the flame safety device separate to that complete unit you have linked too.

... You mean this one? http://www.partmaster.co.uk/new-wor...id=1981741&path=78825,267883&model_ref=400657

I guess the other problem is, I don't know for sure if it's the thermocouple on the burner, or the flame safety device which is attached to the back wall of the oven =/

Never worked on new worlds stuff, but if its like any of ours i'd be unhappy if it took me long than 30 minutes, our charges are job not time and it would be 78+part +vat.

Definitely sounds like the tc though :)
