Tour de France 2014 in UK

I have used Eurosport player very successfully for the Spring Classics - worked great on and iPad 1 and my wireless is nothing special. Great that it's a rolling contract - thoroughly recommend

It is, TF2, 3 and 4 aren't on normal aerial broadcast though, so we'd need to buy a TV box (like a Freeview decoder I guess), cheapest which we've found is €80 (no big deal I suppose).

The second problem of course is that it's all in French. In a few years time I'd hope that this will be fine, but for now I'd prefer the commentary so I can understand it :p.

So we have the option of Eurosport player which is €48/year and has Le Tour and an awful lot more and the advantage that we can understand it(!!), or a French "Freeviewer" box for €80ish.

Move to France and you don't understand French

Probably belgium?

Yep, you're right. Stage 5 Ypres to Arenberg Porte du Hainaut. Nine cobbled sectors. I was thinking it was somewhere in Yorkshire. :D

Surprised they are including cobbles though, I'm sure they featured in Normandy a few years ago and riders were saying it was too dangerous.

Yep, I remember watching that.
I think one of the Schelcks (Frank?) came off on the cobbles then Cancellara organised a go-slow at the front of the race in protest.

Frrooome! :)

Watched the presentation thingy on Eurosport earlier. As soon as the Froome interview started they cut back stage to interview Nibali in French! Bloody geniuses.

Listening to Nibali speaking a language i dont understand is probably still more interesting than listening to froome :p

Just driven home from the gym along part of the route and I'm gobsmacked at the amount of people and tents just randomly plonked around the place now. Never seen traffic queuing like that down there before! Think I underestimated how busy it is actually going to be.

I'm heading up Holme Moss about ten on Sunday and I expect it to be rammed by then... Apparently they're expecting 60,000 spectators on Holme Moss

Picks for the first few stages then?
Stage 1: Cav (heart over head but he can pull it out when he really needs to)
Stage 2: Gerrans, although last climb may be too punchy - Purito maybe?
Stage 3: Kittel
