Looks nice Kaap, but the blurring of the image ruins it for me. I assume it's FXAA or post processing or something. Turn it off, if you can.![]()
What games have you run out of VRAM on with your 690s?
What games have you run out of VRAM on with your 690s?
I have had a few problems with 4K but I have also found it very interesting. Using 4K with max settings has thrown up some interesting things -
Power consumpsion is higher than at lower resolutions as the CPU does not hold the GPUs back. My Titans have never had a problem with a EVGA1500 watt PSU (it can handle peaks of 1650 watts). When I benched Sky Diver @4K the Titans demolished the PSU very easily.
6gb is the absolute minimum for max settings and when the next gen arrives I would say 8gb.
4 Highend Maxwell cards will not be enough to max settings with the next gen of games.
Connectors are not all the same efficiency - some work better than others.
Where the GPUs work harder they produce more heat.
Reviewers need to test graphics cards a lot harder as it is a lot more stressful for them @4K even using stock clocks and any weaknesses show up. For example repeatedly hitting the 4gb buffer will crash the system.
It is more difficult to overclock @4K in some things but easier in others. Removing the CPU botleneck improves stability but also allows the GPUs to get stressed more.
The good news is I don't have to run the CPU any higher than 4.0ghz.
If anyone else has any more pros and cons when using 4K please add them to the thread as someone else may find them useful.
That point in bold alone is enough to stop me gaming at 4k
Kaap you played with the 8Gb Sapphire Toxic 290x's?
@ Matt FXAA doesn't blur anything
