Hi Guys,

I know this is a topic that comes up all the time, but I have just bought a H100i and fit it with a push/pull setup into my Corsair Vengence C70 case.

I've got 4 fans in total on the cooler (of course), and another 5 fans inside the case. The cooler is working great and I'm really pleased with it.

The one thing I'm not pleased with however is the Corsair Link Software, probably because I'm using Windows 8.1. I had the usual issue where none of my Corsair cooler equipment was detected by the Link software. I did the Registry fix but that did not sort the issue.

I did manage to get it to briefly recognize it by unplugging/reconnecting the USB header (while still in Windows), I was then able to view the cooler hardware in Corsair Link and change the logo colour etc but as soon as I rebooted it was gone again.

Does anyone know an alternative method of working around this or a permanent fix?

It's not a massive issue but if possible I would like my new kit to be fully working.

Any help would be much appreciated :)

Im just about to build a system with both 8.1 and a H100i. I hope it works, there was no mention on the overclockers page that it wasnt compatible with windows 8.1

Pull the USB cable out of the board with the system running, then stick it back in, you should hear the windows ding dong chime (new hardware detected thingy) and it should ask you to restart the PC.

Upon rebooting it should all be there within the link software.

If you then suffer from a pink LED issue, then that's another fix altogether and basically involves deleting the link software and USB driver, installing a previous link software that allows manual firmware updates, flash the H100i to 1.05 firmware I think it is (1.07 being the newest) then re-installing the newer link software again and making sure firmware update is disabled so it doesn't try and stick 1.07 back on and giving you a pink LED again.

And relax..

Thanks guys,

As I mentioned above, I already tried the registry fix but it hasn't worked for me :(

I did the same workaround on my friend's PC (Who bought the same cooler as me at the same time, and is also running 8.1) and it worked fine on his once the reg fix had been done. But mine just won't work.

I also did the usb method (pulled it out and fitted again), it did make the 'new hardware' chime and I was able to get it working, but as in my first post, as soon as I restarted my PC it was not recognized again.

:(

That's why I never installed the H100i. Corsair has had a issue with h100i and wins 8 for ages and haven't fixed it. Got tired of waiting and bought the H105 instead. Way happier.

Try and stick with this, as its how I get mine running everytime i do a fresh install (which is often) and it does seem to all come together for me.

Hate to say it but...do a fresh install, install all the windows updates and drivers for audio and GFX, then the LINK software, then do the USB thing.

Got mine installed doesnt show anything in the link software, done the reg edit.
Tried unplugging the usb and back in again, nothing.

What a piece of crap software, wont even let me change the case picture.
