Mrs Browns D movie ?

I'm not a fan of the show, but there is way worse out there, it has raised a chuckle from time to time.

I treat it like I treat a Michael Bay film. Take your brain out and laugh at the idiots on TV.

Well I saw it on Sunday night with the missus who was keen on it after seeing the trailer a while back. I hadn't a clue wtf to expect and I am still not sure wtf I actually watched. That was some of the weirdest **** I've seen since Donnie Darko (not slating it btw).

The cinema was fairly packed though as I was expecting it to be empty upon going in. How the hell does stuff like this actually get the go ahead to be made? Uwe flippin Bol films make more sense than this.

Irish people don't say movie, they say FILIM. Anyway, Mrs Brown is utter turd so I can only assume this will be a jumbo portion of exactly that.

I'd rather watch a Michael Bay film than this utter tripe. It physically pains me to say that.

Unfortunately if people watch it and they make a profit they'll keep churning out sequels.

It will seem like a great film if you watch the Kieth Lemon movie first. :p

Picked up the DVD for 40P, watched it to about half way without even a smirk and a feeling of slight disgust and strong confusion, then melted the case & disk on a fire because it seemed like the right thing to do. :p

5 out of 5 critics say it's rotten, so unless you're seriously looking at the audience figures I can't imagine how you're concluding it's any good.

It's now 9 out of 9 reviews say it's terrible, it's got 0% from the critics(there must be others but they are a rarity) and audience say 44%. I honestly didn't even know what this was, I rarely watch english tv, I turn on sky sports for kick off, turn off at half time, turn back on for second half, same for other sporting events... I don't watch adverts. Was at my rents place over the weekend and saw an advert for this and just thought........ I stand by my idea to basically ignore English tv as much as humanly possible.

I will download or something things like Sherlock... but those are few and far between. Watching the majority of English comedy just makes me feel like this countries IQ is regressing at an alarming rate.

Recognised the film title from the advert, came on hoping that everyone else felt the same and thankfully almost everyone does... gives me a little hope for the future of this country, not much but a little.

When the series first came out I avoided it at all costs. With a view to giving it a fair go I forced myself to watch the first episode. I now avoid the series at all costs.

It feels very much like a man having a nervous breakdown, forcing his family and friends to perform as the 'straight man' to his buffoon. O'Carroll appears to get every line that's meant to be funny and it feels like everyone else is performing under duress and terrified of stealing his thunder, even accidentally. If someone made a mockumentary based on this premise I'm sure it would be infinitely more entertaining.

That's precisely what it is, his friends and family are there to set him up for his punch lines for 30 minutes.
Nobody else gets the "laughs" nobody else gets the screen time, nobody else delivers the what I assume O'Carroll believes are the "zingers" each episode.

Which wouldnt be so bad if any of it was actually funny.
