How much faster is dual channel to single channel?

I am building a office pc for someone with a i3-4130 and a SSD, but I have bought a single stick of 4gb instead of 2x2gb, what a plonker hey. So will the computer run noticeably slower or not?

Also the board Ive ordered is this and I would like to know if it will run with 1 stick or will it have a barney? http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-460-GI&groupid=701&catid=5&subcat=2698

For an office PC it won't matter. I think the difference is only a couple of percent.

buy another exact same 4gb stick = 8gb dual channel

will it be slower? yes a lot,will you notice idk

and yeah it will run with just one stick fine,but dual channel/two sticks is always better

Don't think you'd notice the difference. The SSD is the best option and you have that.
I've read that dual over single is like 5% better but 5% of not much is quite small.

Thanks guys for you replies,, I cant believe I have done that and when I realised my mistake, it was too late as it was already dispatched. Well just as long as it will run without any noticeable speed loss, no biggy I guess plus its upgradable in the future too.

Order 2x2 and just return it under DSR if you are really that worried. Personally I don't think it will make a big enough difference to worry about it.

Well Ive just built the pc, and its running with the 1 stick installed, plus its stupidly fast, so I can breath now.... PHEWWW. Windows even boots much quicker then my i5, but mine takes a age to get passed the bios part and I guess its got more stuff to detect on boot.
