Hey guys I need some help with this if possible...

The other half used to use Clear.Fi on her laptop but since it was wiped it is having hissy fits over playing anything, as in it won't play because the system thinks it is not even there. Anyway, she has used VLC before but that has issues on her system in that it freezes and the picture goes all funky before sorting itself out.

The point is that I am looking for suggestions for other software to do this with, she will not use WMP/Classic nor anything that is Cyberlink so where does that leave us?

Any help appreciated guys!

PS - Paid or freeware is fine though would prefer freeware if possible.

PPS - Her system is high end (i7, 16GB RAM, GTX650M).

Will have a look at that too thanks wazza :) The current problem seems to be that every she inserts a DVD to play it automatically launches WMP which she doesn't want and I have tried setting it to use DAplayer (currently installed) but it just won't have it.

Oh well at least she can watch blu-rays and stuff now without the freezing issues.

I know you said you don't want CyberLink, but PowerDVD does some of the best DVD upscaling I've ever seen. It's a shame it's so bloated and full of crap.

is that with right clicking the dvd then "open with" then "choose default program" then pick daplayer and tick the box to use this app for all dvd's

should work

I think that is probably the only thing I haven't tried I will give it a go and let you know :)

EDIT - The option "open with" doesn't even appear in the context menu and DAplayer can't be found in the Default Programs options for the Autoplay settings, so I have no clue what has gone wrong since it was a fresh install of Windows :(
