Found a nice pair of Oakley Crosslink Switch that look good on my stupid face, but they're #299 in Vision Express which is obscene. I've found them on several websites for ~#150 with lenses but worried about how trustworthy these places are.

Anybody here bought glasses online and can vouch for/recommend a site?

Taaaaaaa!

I used eyewearoutlet.co.uk for mine. The defect was a hairline scratch on the inside of a frame so when wearing you can see it anyway. 52% off rrp :D was cheaper to buy them lens free and have the correct ones fitted than buy all from the same place.

Fast and good customer services.

Glad this has come up as I need some prescription sunglasses, and am looking at Ray Ban Aviators. Vision Express seem to be the only place I've found so far

Thanks chaps. I'm probably going to go with designerglasses.co.uk just cause of price but good to know these things are OK to use. eyewearoutlet has them for #90 but only in light blue :(

As for Oakleys... dunno, they just look good on me, they're robust (good for my job) and the lenses can be switched for tinted, which is nice.

As for nerd, i used it endearingly not offensively!

Just search the address in google followed by "reviews" only reason I dare to try some online companies. Let the other people take the risk :D

I've bought from Glasses Direct a few times which helps to keep the cost down.

Also a local inde opticians has a monthly direct debit scheme to pay for your glasses over 8-10 months without a credit check. Which is handy

Nope, how would you get them to fit?

Your existing, fitted glasses should have the lens width, arm length etc on them, therefore you can pick the same size frames.

I've got 8 or so pairs of very cheap glasses scattered around - like the 15 quid delivered pairs, so if I'm working/doing anything that might get them damaged, I grab a pair and save my nice ones from destruction

Not necessarily talking about frame sizes, but then I have an astigmatism prescription so need to make sure everythings ok and would rather trust someone in person. Plus glasses often need adjusting/straightening/bending once bought. Wouldn't trust myself to do that.

I also see countless people with glasses that aren't straight or sat properly. 2 minutes adjusting by someone who knows what theyre doing sorts that out.
