Install Plex on your computer, purchase a chromecast :)

Fixed that for you... ;)

Very much this! I think my last two posts in this forum are about Plex but it really can't be understated how good an application it is.

It's based on XBMC but as an XBMC to Plex convert you get sooo much more. Even the simplest thing from how it handles retrieving metadata for your content all the way to the added features of seamlessly supporting multiple clients in your home make it a far superior product.

Try Plex Server on your PC and, like MagicBoy suggest, adding the Plex client to your NowTV - it's free and easily reversible so you've got nothing to loose.

Using Plex Server as your home for your media also easily enables other devices in the house to play back media, whether it's another PC, or any DLNA capable device (like a PS3, Xbox 360 or BluRay Player)

Edit: Even saved you the effort of finding a tutorial. This one shows you how to do everything you need to do. You should easily be up and running in 30 minutes

P.S. Note that Plex is a server/client infrastructure. You always need the Plex Server installed on the computer/server where you content is based/accessible. Plex also offers "Plex Home Theater" which is the client for a PC. It sounds like this will not be useful for you so make sure you're downloading "Plex Media Server".

Cheers RoyMi6 - that was the tutorial I used. Couldn't find it earlier as YouTube is blocked at work.

I've heard good things about the WDTV Live. I owned the original non-networked version a few years ago, and it played just about any media file you could throw at it and was very good quality.
