Upcoming games to support Mantle

I'm a tad confused here, are you agreeing with me or arguing? what you have written backs up my point, but they way you phrased it makes it look like it's supposed to be a counter argument :S

Agreeing that we dont see the frame rate but also disagreeing that we wont benefit from having frame above the hertz

I could tell the difference between running a 780ti using dx11, and a 290X using Mantle, it felt much smoother on the 290X than on the 780Ti using DX11.

Edit- Why does this crap always turn into a AMD VS NVIDIA debate? And always by the same people.

When I had a 290X, the 780 felt a lot smoother in BF4, although never tested Mantle.

Isn't the reason Nvidia developed FCAT was to show that thier cards are smoother, which at that point was true in the games they cited, like Skyrim.
Is the FCAT system suddenly not valid?

With around 1ms variance for a single card user, it would be smooth. I already said that is a good experience above. However if you're trying to tell me that you wouldn't notice spikes between 25MS-60MS of variance then i think you may be in denial.

I can only report on what my own experience is where there is no hitching, latency or massive frame variance. The game feels smooth to me. What on earth am I in denial about lol? If my experience was as you suggest with the 'spikes' then I would swap to a 290/X. Remember we aren't all like you lot who are loyal to the brand :p. I go with what suits me at the time I am buying.

Being somebody who likes to think he is good at FPS games and has played at a decent level through the years in different games I'd like to think I'm experienced enough to judge if my game is running smoothly or not as the smoothness greatly dictates my effectiveness.

Depending on how things work out over the next few months I'll most probably get an AMD card or two next so I'll make a judgement through experience so I look forward to you lot all giving it the 'PEBKAC' when I don't notice anything different :p.

You're talking about single card experience, im talking about multi gpu experience. If you're using a TitanZ or 780TI's in SLI my bad. I was under the impression you had a single 780 though.

FCAT was originally part of the inhouse tools for SLI development - FCAT with the external hardware capture was somewhat developed to highlight the differences between SLI and CF.

Not valid when its against them, Valid when its working for them. :D

At the time it was said that Nvidia were doing AMD a favour by pointing out a problem for them, and to their credit AMD have had worked hard to fix the problem.

Now perhaps its DR Green's turn to take his own medicine. i guess he never heard the expression "what goes around come around"

still, its all good if the end result is a good one.

Oh my days. Trying to have a conversation when you're in bunker mode is agonising.

Don't worry about it mate :p.

Rusty, could you pop this "perfoverlay.framefilelogenable 1" into the command console at the start of an online game bud? 64player conquest or something if you can.

Use "perfoverlay.framefilelogenable 0" when the game finishes and pop the results on here?

Matt what's the name of that program to look at frametimes bud?

I'll do the same afterwards and we can compare the differences.

Touche. :p

I'm pretty sure you would notice 25-60MS variance spikes if you had an SLI setup. :D

You need to remember to play with vsync off and no fps limits if you do that plus you need to use the same resolution and video settings. :)

Maybe older drivers Gee? no sure bud, Dx11 felt smooth for me on my 290X and on the 780Ti, but honestly now using Mantle it's just some much better.

Definitely on the older drivers as it was a good while back. Still can't see Mantle making a huge visible difference in smoothness over the Titans I'm using.

At some point i'll have another 290X and i'll compare the two.

No vsync or framelimit here, i'm at 1080P Rusty, max settings.

If you use a pacing command in a User.Cfg now you can delete it. They changed it in the recent patch so now the default is the best option. Why it was not like that originally is beyond me. :D

man all the games i have in my steam wish list is there xD
only missing 2 games, witcher3 and Evolve
i so wish GTAV uses Mantle, and also hopes that COD would be the first of gameworks games to also include Mantle, that would be perfect.
