Hi Peeps,

I'm new to the PC gaming world and I'm on the search for a decent RTS game. I've already started playing Total war: Napoleon (which I'm loving) but thought I give the COH a try.

I was wondering if I should get the original COH or it sequel? I've heard so many negative reviews for the COH2 that's its off putting, to say the least. Although, some argue that these reviews are way over exaggerated so who knows.

Anyway, what does you guys think?

PC specs;
- Intel core i5 4670K
- GIGABYTE Z97X-Gaming 5
- Asus GTX 770 Graphics Card
- Corsair Vengence pro 8 GB RAM DDR3 1600 Mhz
- Samsung 840 EVO 120GB SSD and WD Black 1TB HDD
- Windows 8.1

Both are good. I sunk many hours into the first one but the 2nd is just as good imo and as a bonus it looks nicer too.

First one for my money - it can be had for practically nothing on the Steam sales or Humble Bundles and it is still the best RTS game I've ever played!

The second one, not so much! I'm a bit put off by the extra DLC (which I assume you have to pay for!) to "complete" the game!

As several have said, if you can afford to pick them both up... do so!

Otherwise, grab COH1. You'll have many hours playing through the SP, and then learning how to use the armies differently in 1 v 1 or 2 v 2 matches.

COH1 is a great game to play with a couple of friends on LAN as well, all being on the same side, taking on a bunch of enemy AI players - who incidentally, are certainly not a pushover! (Yes, tactically they're sometimes a bit less intelligent than humans, but they do sometimes have a bit of an unpredictable element that humans either lack, or dont have time to do)

This!

A few of us have spent many hours playing 2/3/4 vs the AI - occasionally it's too easy when the AI might just sit next to a point and not take it etc but the majority of the time it's very challenging on hard upwards!
