Guy with a problem, Kingpin 780ti or Titan black Edition - what would you do ?

Matt, reference the Bf4 thread, could i ask what you use to record Mantle footage with please bud?

Yes sorry mate missed your reply. Currently im using Mirillis Action, however it has a performance hit and you have use borderless window mode, which also has a performance hit.

I'm guessing you can't use GameDVR with Mantle yet? If so Mirillis or something similar is your only option.

I don't want to hear about theoretical bandwidth limits especially when talking about Elpida :p.

I'm able to see what's going on when I'm running those clocks as well which is an added bonus :D

Actually running 1625Mhz (416GB's) 24/7 is fairly easy, only needs +81mv for both cards so it's easily within reach, even on the reference cooler the problem is you need the fans at loud levels. 1425Mhz is possible on stock voltage which is about 360gb's and can be done with the fans at a much lower level.

I doubt you're seeing anywhere near 400 on that Elpida though, unfortunately there is no test. Valley is a good one for memory bandwidth but that's obviously a difficult comparison

Yeah probably, it's definitely a few percent slower than Hynix and in turn a few more percent slower than Samsung. I wouldn't expect a huge difference though.

Cheers bud, i'll give it a go :)

:p Two guesses who I was talking about :D

:D:D

I'd love to be able to run mine @1625, but alas, for games at least it's not possible with my card.

I'm happy enough with 1200/1400 though, come to think of it, 1200/1500 should be ok, only concern is that the memory of these 290s are picky aand high clocks, enough though stable, don't always get me better peformance.

Someone did mention something about the timings but i can't for the life of me remember who.

Gotta love how a thread about nvidia options ends up with amd suggestions and bandwidth comparisons that have nothing to do with the op. If the guy had wanted amd he'd have bought a card from them in the first place.

Nothing wrong with providing an alternative if you think it's better for the OP though Jeffy surely?

As someone with a Samsung and elpida card (both top out around 7.4ghz) the Samsung is deffo the most efficient card in benches. Games it doesn't make any odds.

I still have a chuckle at those that blast elpida based cards, core is king, always has been always will be, especially where gaming is concerned. They should also remember that some of the finest DDR3 to ever hit the market was....ELPIDA!!!

Doesn't make a suggest of selling the Titan black and getting two 290s any less helpful or valid though does it?

I don't know if the OP was set on a Nvidia card or not, regardless, i still think if it's only gaming he's interested in and doesn't mind not using Physx/Shadowplay etc, he'd be better off with CF 290s.

each to their own though.
